Feedburner will do that. It has problems from time to time. They should be back in a day or two. Mine usually gets cut in half when there is a feedburner issue.

Often Feedburner just doesn't register new subscribers until later in the day. In the morning (US Eastern time) it'll be 0, and then by afternoon, the Feeds will have updated. This is possibly what you're seeing?

Yes, I guess. Its kind of peculiar how all of it had gone to zero. It was like my world almost crumbled. Almost. I wish the zero subscribers wasn't true. I WISH.

Yeah, it happens. In the early morning, mine will usually read 0, then it'll update later toward the afternoon. Also, there's a lot of fluctuation day-to-day (might be actual numbers, but I also hear that sometimes Feedburner doesn't catch every reader). Here's an article about it:

If I'm not mistaken Feedburner subscriber numbers are derived from an algorithm, hence they are a sophisticated guess at your subscriber base. The are not an actual count. Feed burner says "Subscribers (are) inferred from an analysis of the many different feed readers and aggregators that retrieve this feed daily."

Since its an algorithm there are days when it could report 0. Models are like that. Sometimes they just rest, restart, or have division errors.

Really? Is that error commonly acceptable or is it something I should be worried about?

Don't worry. Just don't lose yourself. Happy blogging!

Thanks for that reply footiam! My subscribers are back on now and the number increased. Although based on dougist's comment, I'm wondering if that number trully refers to my subscribers or just daily visitors.

I'm glad you posted this because I was wondering the same thing.
