If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. I am a Mac user who just purchased a Sony HD Handycam. I was using a Cybershot to capture my movies and utilizing the iMovie 06 version because it gave me more options for features. Now that I have purchased this new HD cam, it will not import my movies into the old version if iMovie. I have to use iMovie 08, which basically doesn't give me the features which I need to create my videos.
To give you an example of what I am trying to do with iMovie 08, I am posting two links up so you can see what I want to do with 08, however unable to, thus so far.

I purchased the HD cam because my video quality was suffering, but now, it seems as though my videos altogether will be suffering because it will not include all the fun effects.
Can anyone who is familiar with the Mac give me some guidance? I'm really at a loss and thinking about sending the cam back. I'd rather the effects. If I use the 08 version, I'll just be placing raw footage on, which, to me isn't my thing. I wanna spice it up a bit.
Also, is there a way that I can import from the 08 into the 06 version?
Thanks!!

Thanks anyway... I found out how to do it, but I need to place it in iMovie 08 first, then convert it into the old version, iMovie HD 06... The video quality is STILL suffering on Youtube, however crystal clear on my iMovie. It's a lot of hard work for a small clip.
Here's the HD video after the conversion and placed on Youtube.

Anyone know what I can do to make this an easy process?
