   clothes pegs over his nostrels is a cruel method that might work
   
   another option is to grab a water pistol and squirt him everytime he snores, as soon as the cold water hits his face he'll roll over and probably stop snoring so loudly

   Is your roomate overweight? If so help them to lose weight. Be supportive and everything. Tell them it's cutting oxygen to the brain and snorers typically have health problems if it doesn't get solved.

      Then he needs to go to a sleep clinic. Snoring cuts ciculation to your brain. I bet he wakes up tired too.

      breath right strips are the little strips that you put across your nose. I use them and I stopped snoring instantly.

   Buy those nose clear springs that sport players wear. Its a pastic band that goes around top his nose to expand his nose. OR put a pillow over his head.

   keep baseballs near your bed and toss one at him when he starts to snore

   Try to gently shove him. Gently, ao as not to awake him. It will help him change his sleeping position. When he changes his position, he is most likely to stop snoring.

    If you can not stop your room mate from this, you can sleep with music and headphones yourself. The breath right strips that the others mentioned hold the air passage open which stops the snoring. You can find them online they are not very expensive.
    Otherwise... headphones are wonderful.
