forgive my ignorance about this whole internet thingy and the fact that I will fill up every form that is laid on me and all, but I am so depressed and I need your genius answers.

My website wrybread.x10hosting.com is showing a different website that is entirely not mine. it was fitbit and I think they now own the domain.

Okay, it is a free domain, and I am willing to give it up if that's they wanted since it did not pay nor I paid for it anyway. All I wanted is to get all my content and codes and stuff because I put my heart on encoding it manually. I don't want to waste all my 5th-grade knowledge on html and php.

I cannot access now my cPanel X. What will I do? Please help me.

I'm very sorry this doesn't look good.

Since it was a free domain, they are probably not liable for recovering your code.

the new site - fitbit, doesn't belong on that domain, hopefully it was a mistake.

Give them a call, try to figure it out..

This really sucks, I'll help you rebuild if you can't get everything back.

I went to x10hosting's helpdesk and submitted a ticket. Upon searching google, I think this incident is known as domain masking, wherein instead of redirecting you to a different domain when accessing a website--like typing example.com and automatically redirecting you to whatever.com--you are staying on the url you typed but showing a different website (hope I made sense).

I am just waiting for their support's response to my issue. Hopefully I will get all my codes back. Praying they are all in there.

And by the way, thanks for offering your help.

      wrybread.x10hosting.com/images/press/inhand_thumb.jpg

      wrybread.x10hosting.com/product

comparing it doesnt seem like it has been masked ??

Let then know that you would like to give them a good review online but will only do that if they respond fairly. And then follow through with a good or bad review.
    1. dbaker
      huh? are you kidding?
  5. jflower36
No, I'm not kidding. They want more people to use their host domain. Let them know that you will be giving a review of their host domain...good or bad.
    1. dbaker
that's silly! They have invaded my humble domain and a speck of presence on the net and yet you would advise me that I should give them a service. It was like a landowner giving in to the squats. Totally silly.

I don't think you understood my point at all. I'm sure you've heard of BBB (Better Business Bureau)? The concept there is that services get rated for all to see. If the host domain knows that you will give them a negative review online, they may do more to make sure you are treated fairly. I hope that clarified my point.

You look good with the tie. And thanks for the offer. I want to settle this on my own but hold that thought though. Just hold that thought.

Thats what happens when you don't pay (no offence, it happend to me as well) Don't expect anything, move on.
    1. dbaker
But they offer it for free. Okay, okay I'll move on. Only if I get my codes back.

I don't know if its any use to you but there are quite a lot of pages listed on Google for your site where you can get the content by clicking on the 'Cached' links -
    www.google.com/search?q=inurl:wrybread.x10hosting.com&hl=en&safe=off&client...
You'll need to collect all the content fast though, because next time Google crawls each page it'll write over its cache for that page with a blank page.

This is quite nifty, but it will do me no good. I'm not after the stories that I have written, I'm after the php codes. Thanks for the info, though, never thought you could do much with google.

Many a times people fill up forms w/o reading the terms and conditions. In some, the blog officially and legally is no longer yours but you are it's poster, admin you can say. Hope this isn't the case here.

OMG! It's up and it's down and then it's up and it's down. I suggest that you back it all up while it's up - just in case. Also I think moving may be a good idea.
