I have $500 I set aside this month from freelance writing to use in advertising pointlessbanter.net.
I did okay with stumbleupon ads when I experimented with them and might run a few campaigns.
However I am open for ideas? How would you spend that money?
DAMN it should be how should I spend a $500 advertising budget...
I might have been drunk writing that

Well, a few dollars set aside to advertise on mattmetrodude.com would be money well spent, you'd get a well written and witty post mentioning your site, and if you really wanted it bad enough perhaps even a link in my soon to be developed blogroll

LOL! I'm not going to whore my sites... but if you want, I would try Projectwonderful and just test out the cheap sites that are like .01 per day... though, it is pretty time consuming looking for sites and crossing off which ones aren't good, etc... or go to a forum and pay someone to market your blog for you...

If I had these answers and I wish I did...I would definitely share them. I'm researching day and night how to drive traffic and optimize with little to no money.
Anything I come up with, I will certainly share.
Hey, how many more visitors do YOU need anyway!?!
:)
:) LMAO!
You rock, my friend! And your blog is INCREDIBLE! -

I think advertising on kitchentablemedicne.com would be the way to go!

Have you considered saving up your bucks for a couple of months and doing online advertising with Comedy Central, or somewhere like that?
www.comedycentral.com/mediakit/
Otherwise, have you tried Google Search ads?-
I would have to save up forever to pay for comedy central. I will write in but I bet they don't do anything for less than 10k. (thanks for a link to their media kit)
I am mulling over PPC ads, but search engine traffic for me usually sucks ass. I was thinking about doing more with stumble and maybe facebook.

I'd buy spots on some smaller traffic blogs with good quality that cter to the same audience. Maybe not a flood of traffic but a good shot at converting some loyal readers who may in turn spread the word.
Also consider searching out some comedy newsletters/ezines with a fairly large base. Write a short humorous intro to a couple of your more popular posts and pay for an ad spot to include it in their publications. Try to write it so that it almost feels like more content in the zine rather than an ad.
