I smell my fingers when I'm reading or concentrating hard. I ball my fists when I'm sleeping. I twist my hair around my finger almost constatntly...
What inane little thing do you do without even thinking?

I have acrylic nails. My own nails are like baby's nails...soft and bendable, so I have acrylics (or whatever it is they do these days...gel?) because otherwise I have to keep my nails cut down to the quick to prevent them from being bent or torn.
My husband hates me clicking them, but it is one of those subconscious things that, unless he calls it to my attention, I don't even realize. -
If you can find this stuff, get it:

That stuff is amazing, and I went from braking and flaking excuses of fingernails into strong and long in just couple of weeks using that. In Switzerland it is classified as medicine, but in Finland at least you can buy it from the super market. Seriously, get that if you get tired of fake nails!

I twist a curl around my finger and also twist my wedding ring around--both done subconsciously. My mother hums and this drives me crazy!

Ha ha I knew you were a whack a dooddle.....as am I so you are in good company!

Personally I am a leg shaker and a hummer. It drives people batty.-
My husband does that leg shaking thing!
I spent 30 years in earthquake country and although I've been out of there for 5 years, whenever he starts shaking his foot or leg on the bed, I get that pit-of-the-stomach clench that says "earthquake coming!"
Hmmmm...maybe I should offer him a deal: if he quits giving me earthquake fits, I'll quit clicking my nails!

I tense up my leg muscles. I don't even know I'm doing it until my daughter is sitting on my lap and says, "Mommy, why are you moving your leg?"

I’m a knuckle cracker (which I really have to stop) and a nail tapper. The guy in the cubicle next to mine is always asking me to stop tapping my nails on my desk.
