I was scammed and have 1200 FAKE dollars

It hurt at the moment cuz I sold a new sony vaio and oh well, money comes and goes right.

So any suggestions on what to do with the money (they look so real man)? (I don't have any data on the guy who gave it to me)

I was thinking of some ideas:
1) Play monopoly with it.
2) Get drunk and think I have so much money I can burn and burn it.
3) Send it to someone in the USA as a gift (hehe)
4) Always carry it with me and make people think I have so much money.

As you see I have no intention of scamming anyone cuz I know what is the feeling but what should I do with all this fake money? Any interesting ideas?

Burn them or destroy them in some hilarious fashion. Video the destruction and post it on YouTube to promote your blog.

I would photocopy it for your records, as a loss on your taxes, and then give it to the authorities and tell them what happened. Sorry this happened to you.

Let's see:

- I am in a 3rd world country Peru so if I give it to the "authorities" they would probably try to use it. And about the FBI? Here in Peru you can actually buy it all in the black market (100 dollar bills, usa visas, you name it) so if any agent reads this just come to Lima, Peru (or I bet Brazil, bolivia etc) and go downtown. It is sad but true. Some fake bills come from Asia too. Oh, just last week they caught a big mafia that put more than 3 million fake dollars in Vegas from lima.

@ Anok:
I was selling my pretty, nice, awesome brand new laptop and a guy called and he scammed me (putting a really nice role play of an executive and an awesome car). At first I wanted to destroy it all and even cried but the laptop cost me 500 (via ebay and my aunt brought it) so oh well. Then I though how lucky I was cause what if I had noticed that they were fake? Maybe he would have pulled out a gun and stolen my other things. I am used to honesty and forget I am in Peru and not in the states. There are so many scams here.

Anyway I liked the idea of burning them and putting it in youtube. Good suggestion. Any other? (I ask this cuz everytime I see the fake money I get sad and depressed

  At least now I really an savy at detecting fake 100 bills. I gave it to this arab guy and he thought it was real but I told him it was fake so I bet most Americans wouldn't notice.
  
  EDIT: Actually, I might use my camera and place them at work and see if someone grabs it and then I will do some kind of joke.

Start a video with a big fat cigar in your mouth. Pull up the bills to a lighter in front of the camera and light at least three of them on fire to light your stoagie.

OR

This is a little mean spirited but have a hidden camera and go to a very public place with lots of people walking around and just drop one in the middle. See who picks it up and keeps it or who returns it to you. You could do a whole study on it.

or turn it in.

I posted above, but thought of some more ideas here.

Make a video.. Burning 100 bucks. And tell people to tell you how to destroy the next 100. Link to a specific post on your page where they can leave the suggestions.

Next day, pick one, make that video, Post a new post - Rinse and repeat 12 times.

You'll "Buy" publicity with useless money. And you'll be doing the legally responsible thing and destroying it.

You guys don't know the authority here. Trust me, it is better in my own hands. At least I won't scam anyone cuz I know the feeling but turning it in is just giving the cops an easy scam tool. South America man, what can I say?

Oh and the clip idea is awesome. I was thinking of also always carrying it and if I get robbed I would say "OK OK TAKE MY CASH AND LEAVE" Then they will not harm me or steal anything else.

Hey Latinocool79 this is no laughing matter or something to just blog about, this is serious. I don't care even if you are on Timbukto or Zimbabwe or wherever. If it's counterfeit US money turn it in. If you don't trust your authorities the FBI will do.

Do you want a link where you can report them? If it happens to you who knows who else they have victimized.

I mean, yeah sure forgive and forget, money can be easily earned. My purse just got snatched on the supermarket yesterday. But it can be easily replaced and the karma on those thieves will get them.

FBI? Ok, here is what goes on in my beautiful country. You can go and actually buy anything fake in downtown Lima in Peru (and am sure in many more latin countries as posted before). Like in the news I have seen that they caught this guy selling 1000 fake bucks for 100 real ones. Then these guys travel to the USA, especially Vegas, and people don't check the bills. So again. Since you are over there in the USA let them come and catch these mafias that put fake dollars into the US economy. I was just a casual trusty guy who wanted to sell a nice laptop to get some cash to buy a car. Anyways, no FBI here and cops are useless. Here it is the law of the strongest and I am a weak link so check your bills in the future especially in big cities.

Actually yesterday a tore 1 bill and it is pathetic how innocent one can be at times. NEVER MORE! But like your said earth, the thieves will get their punishment. I just need some nice good old humor to make me forget this horrible feeling not exactly in losing money but in being fooled and insulting me.

  No, I couldn't catch him but he came in a hell of a car and maybe that was part of his trick. He also made a switch of real with fake in his payment and I just took the money without asking for any info.
  
  Anyway, I will probably do something with it and let you guys know. I MISS MY SONY VAIO!!!
