I have been doing photography as a freelance photographer for quite some time.

Photo blogging is my passion and I would love to see more photography blogs and make friends with photographers in BC here!

Here is my street candid! We all have funny moments in life

    Great shot!

Thank you. You don't have a photography blog?
    2. Friday13
Well, no ... my blog's got photos in it, but that's not its main focus.
    3. roentarre
      Friday13,

I am glad to have stumbled into your blog. I never realised that your blog has a strong emphasis on photography.

Your blog adopts black background to "pop" the photographs presented in the site.

Your latest blog features on several important aspects of photography

      Depth of Field and Texture

I found your unique view on life are well presented in a series to evoke a type of sentiment and view. The texture can sometimes provide a soothing feeling for which I call visual massage

I would love to keep in track of your blog and added you to my friend list

Okay. Now, you're just looking too much into it

      (but thanks!)
    5. roentarre
Still, I think you have placed a strong emphasis in photography in your blog. Give that you update your blog relatively frequently, a few non-photography posts do not hurt
  2. mountaincat
    great photos, mate.

Thank you for the comment! Appreciated!

    Loving it!

    My photo blog is www.abart-temperament.blogspot.com

would be great if you could review it. I got a Canon Eos 1000D for Christmas and am learning so any views would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    1. roentarre
Yes, I just got around to your photo blog. I already realised that I had visited yours before!

Speaking of the layout, it is a safe format. The blue colour tends to compliment bright colour series and your posts are mostly of poetic dreamy nature. So your photos would blend in naturally with your background colour.

Your photographs have strong emphasis on saturation of colour and sentiment.

Canon CMOS sensor tends to provide powerful colour once saturation bars are pushed to the extreme right. It does a good job in striking colour. Your photography is into perspective and mood. So more like a cup of tea session sitting down, browsing through your photography.

As a photographer audience, I would love to see you experimenting with various colour combination as well as abstract photography. It would be something that you can develop further.

I know you like landscape. Landscape can also be done in abstract fashion too

I have given my review rating too.
    2. thetravellerreturns
ive photos of all kinds if you fancy a look. Thanks.

      cheers.

Seriously, your photo blog really really has a class.

I can sense the richness of artistic quality through your photography. The use of yellow in the background brings in the distance between the viewer and the monitor. Your colour coding of images either in warm or cool colour tempeature brings out a variation of depth of images.

The impact from these images are immense. Such a dreamy touch to all these images. I really like these photos and hope to see the future posts and tag your blog along.

Wow is what I can say!
    2. roentarre
Somehow I cannot find that photo blog in your BC listing though ...

its not a blog.. but id like to know what you think of my photography
    1. roentarre
I will come back to have a look on your gallery in deviant. I know that gallery and will have a look at your work later on
  5. Jules66
LOL at your pic, it's a great candid shot !
I'm into photography. Most of my photos are on flickr. I also have a photography blog, which I am currently working on. The link to it is in my profile section of my Chatterblog personal blog

I am soooo sorry that I did not see you posting here 3 days ago! I had been active but thought my photography thread died prematurely already...

I had the chance to visit your blog and I felt a sense of beauty through your choie of colour.

They are muted colour to a degree. The images are heavily sented with Black/White gradient and a touch of retro feeling. Almost like Noir. You must be a very senual person in real life.

Your vision is fantastic and your posts are so easy to read and feel.

Apology for not noticing your post!

      Roentarre feels alive again
  6. infowebexplore
the photos should be only on main page, or arso in some directories??
    1. roentarre
I predominantly want to review photo blogs. So gallery images are ok but blogs are preferred.

I would only write the general style rather than individual picture critism
    1. roentarre
Yes, it is a great honour to meet you!

I have seen two of your posts in your blog. It is certainly a fantastic photo blog itself.

Your current post reveals a sequence of wedding shoots under harsh lighting of snow. That is usually what every wedding photographer tries to avoid. Yet, you did it well. I see no clipping in the images and the expression of the bride looks so relaxed and happy.

Your style seems to touch on use of negative space. The spacial feel seems to be your main focus in composition overall. It is still early day to judge. Glad to know another great photographer
  7. Jules66
Thank you for your lovely review roentarre ! You have made my day :))

Did you just see my personal blog 'Chatterblog', or have you also seen my photography blog 'Images by Julie-Anne', which I am still working on ?
    1. roentarre
Jules66, it was Chatterblog that I was looking at. I had browsed through quite a few posts of yours to make that call.

I will be patiently awaiting for your new photography blog!
  8. roentarre
    Don't be scared, photographers!

    Come and join the party!

You see that even she is not scared!

  9. Jules66
LOL, oh you just gave me another laugh! I have a photo on flickr somewhere of a similar looking lady that was browsing our local country market. We couldn't help but 'notice' her ! ;-)

    Great pic, very colourful! ;-)
    1. roentarre
I see that we photographers communicate better with our own photos. So we should increase our prominence in the forum using our weapon of choice - photographs! Not camera gear. Some Canon FF cameras are far heavier than police batons...
  10. kden
It's relatively new but feel free to have a look. It's mostly for joining meme's.

    1. roentarre
Your photography focuses on nature. You put a lot of thought into your own photography with variation of techniques concentrating on leading line and framing using natural elements in your composition.

It is tough to photography branches only. Branches are often considered as the clattering distracting component to landscape photographers

A very tasteful blog and a great blog too
    1. roentarre
      Hehe

This thread is finally getting somewhere

Your blog is following the style of Iga in the photo blog community here. Instead of 2 dolls, you have one. But this doll is seriously much cuter than the aforementioned ones

Your photography is emphasising where you have been to, documented through the camera you are shooting. Somehow I have a sense of doll fetish after viewing your first 5 images. The doll is growing on me! Hehe

Your shots did properly feature some use of background bokeh where the blurr is nicely done. I think this is unique for your photo blog.

  11. kden
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for your nice comments. I enjoyed your shots on your facades blog. I sure have a lot to learn.
    1. roentarre
Thank you for visiting my facade photo blog.

I started the blog with the aim to update annually. In the end, it was having more attention than my oldest blog - snapshot of life.

The sad thing is that updating the blog once a month is a suicidal attempt. So the blog was basicly dead for about a year before I decide to ressurect it.

Since then, I started to know a little bit more about blogging and learnt a lot from this BC forum. Better than digitalpoint.com forum where the moderators are short circuited in the head, giving out infractions like salmonella induced diarrhoea...

I am starting to consider this place a new home for blogging.
  12. DollinNYC
Thanks - I have had this doll since I was about 4 years old...which was a few decades ago!

Who is this Iga of which you speak?
    1. roentarre
      @DollinNYC

This is her blog. Updated really regularly. I have lost in touch with her blog for some time...

will appreciate some comments under the post itself in the blog
    thnx

I just had a chance to visit your photo blog.

Your aquarium effort is to be congradulated. Despite the sensor noise from a small sensor, your composition has captured the essence of the fish environment. The perspective is quite good in some of the shots.

I particularly enjoy your earlier posts with other nature images including fruits and leaves. Artistic in deed
  14. roadgurl5
Mine is not a photoblog, but mostly photos mixed with some writing. If you run out of photoblogs to review and would like to take a look, please come by. Would welcome any comments or suggestions on making them nicer. Thanks!
    1. roentarre
Thanks for offering your blog to review.

It is a very good photo blog. Very true to your personality. No disguise and no pretence. The work reflect your life very well.

Poetic and gentle. Very good for a good morning read. Your photography carries a serenity that is hard to describe.

Your composition is surprisingly not the major technique used in your recent series of images. Instead, you work on hue and lighting.
    2. roadgurl5
You're too kind, roentarre, but thank you so much for your thoughts. I'll need to visit your photography blogs more often for tips, and great photography, of course!
    1. roentarre
Your work has a lot of interesting things to note.

You and I share a lot of techniques used in your recent series of images. The colour are punchy and the contrast are incredibly high. The aim is to create a major impact and a significant visual experience.

You are also a little prone to emphasis on texture as well but not as crazy as I am

Love to see more of your work in the future. I prefer email subscription actually
    2. secretwhispers
      your caterpillar is amazing(!)

i'm new to DSLR photography & am constantly looking for new ideas & helpful tips

I have a poetry and amateur photogrpahy blog in the sense I love to take picsand every single photo has been taken by me though I only used the pics that suit the poems.

Your poetry is surely stunning. Your photography compliments the poetry very well. I see that you are fascinated by texture and ornament details.
    2. ranist22
Thanks a lot. I appreciated your taking the time to comment a lot.
  16. suek
Many thanks for starting this post and for taking the time to look and critique. We as photographers see something in our own work, but crave knowing what the reaction is to the viewer.
Thank you for giving us the feedback and the encouragement to continue!
I am also glad to have been introduced to your blog and the work you create - love it. Sue
    1. roentarre
You are welcome. The current pace of people posting is actually just about right for me to browse several photographers work at a time. A lot to learn from and a lot of people to get to know
  17. papshmir
    I have one ...amateur photos...

I see that your have a very tasteful approach to composition. The colour seems to be more about black and white style rather than emphasis on colour.

I see that there is a sense of melancholy in your images.
    1. roentarre
Thank you for posting your photo blog here. I have been sick and working long shifts at the same time. Life is a little too inconvinient for me at present

Looking at your blog. I notice that this is still a young blog! Congradulation on having this new blog and all the best to the future photography.

Given that I can only see your second post regarding sunset, I find it hard to comment on your style. The set of sunset photographs is a typical magical hour photograph. The glare is strong with a touch of sentiment going on.

Would love to see more of your images in the future
  18. muzungumalaika
What about me? now you forget about your friends in blogcatalog who are not very good photographers ...i'm gealous!
Well I will surprise you in my next post, for sure there will be at least 2 photos that you will appreciate, YOU WILL REALLY APPRECIATE, done by me and by luck of course! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
