I have a photo blog, but I am wanting to start adding text to make it more interesting to readers. I do not want to do instruction, but rather something that most people would find interesting. I have started doing a quote with each picture, but I am looking for more ideas. I appreciate all your help. What would make it more interesting to you?

    Hi Kevin,

I really like the quotes and the humor that you have started adding to your postings as it is a unique idea. I also like that you discuss your photos so the viewer understands something about them. I personally think this is the most important part of a photo blog and what I try to do on my photo blog at www.richardhamiltonphotography.com

Your Osprey post is perfect. With regards to your instruction comment, I think sometimes it is helpful if you provide instructions, especially if it was a particularly difficult photo. I certainly would find that useful.

    Kind regards,
    Richard

Your site has a nice clean look for photos.

I also like your describing the atmosphere when you're shooting. Some other things that interest me about photographs:

    1. What appeals to you about the subject, the angle, the light?
    2. What was difficult about the shot?
    3. What affects were you after?
    4. Was it a lucky shot - of the moment? Or did it take some time and planning?
    5. In other words, what was going on in the photographer's head while shooting?

I agree. I like to include personal info about my own photos; why did I take that photo? What makes (or made) it special for me? What do I like about it? Where was I & why? Etc., etc.
