Ideas on how to make a travel blog be more interactive??

Hi, i'm new to blogging. just started two new blogs about two of my favorite cities that I know really well and would like to share my knowledge.
I am afraid that, if I keep posting, they will end up looking more like travel guides rather than an interactive discussion field. Any ideas on how to sort this out??? thanks in advance

Well, you could break it down to focusing on one particular thing about the city, like say Italian food. List the top five Italian restaurants and give a mini-review on each. Then end the entry with which one is your favorite (and why), plus an insider tip ("don't ask for Maria at Joe's Italian." or something), and ask the readers which one they like and why. -
I've visit your blog "Weekend in Athens". You have all the source but I think you should change the colour of the layout. Black is not attractive colour for your niche blog. Hope you don't mind, just an opinion.
