The tricky thing about UFOs is that they are so hard to prove, even if they are real. I've seen some documentaries and NASA footage that was pretty odd and convincing. But then again, if you can make the transformers look convincing enough in a movie, you could make a UFO look convincing anywhere you wanted as well. That's not to say that they aren't real, it's just that even if you "prove" their existence, people still won't believe it. You'd have to get a real UFO to do a world tour so that people could see it live for themselves.
    1. acousticguitarist
Are you familiar with the Disclosure project?
    2. Rainhat
Nope, this is the first I hear about it.
    3. acousticguitarist
NASA is not the agency which handles ufo's but there is info from them
    4. Rainhat
There's an agency that handles UFOs? That's pretty cool!

On a side note: one thing that I always found a bit funny about UFOs is that given the incredible technology they must have to get here in the first place from such great distances, isn't it kinda weird that so many of them seem to crash once they get here? They fly across lightyears of difficult conditions, only to get in trouble with a small planet?
    5. dbowles1017
Do you ever watch UFO hunters on history? Or UFO files?
    6. acousticguitarist
THe ufo portfolio has been the only thing held in higher secrecy than the building of atomic weapons.

The Disclosure Project has a series of objectives, I will post them below.
  2. harveyavatar
I have heard of these UFOs. As they are oft spotted near military bases, my best guess is they have something to do with the military. I could be wrong.
    1. acousticguitarist
This project is incredible, when you see who has spoken out it's pretty hard to remain sceptical
    2. harveyavatar
I'll have to watch that some day.
  3. dbowles1017
Because they do exist! *Queue X-file theme song*
    1. dbowles1017
      Umm... I don't know
    2. acousticguitarist
Ok start humming and I'll find the key
  4. polybore
It is an interesting one. The existence of UFO's, really, is uncontested. However are any of them extra terrestrial?
    1. acousticguitarist
Yes, they are aware of 57 species.

there are people that were there when various craft crashed, the guy who wsa in charge of that job has spoken up
  5. lordiwanttobewhole
That is incredible, it blows my mind. I've been interested in different conspiracy theories and cover ups over the years. I was a non believer. I'll have to check out your link.
    1. acousticguitarist
there's a great 2 hour video which covers a small portion of the testimonies
  6. harveyavatar
I'd just like to add that William Cooper (ex navy intelligence) was a big believer in UFOs (he saw one rise out of the sea), but later came to believe it was all covert military stuff - contrary to what he was led to believe.

    video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2829245257205113781#
    1. acousticguitarist
Obviously there is military stuff and that is their business. Check out the Disclosure Project properly. I heard of it a few years back and never bothered because I had already followed ufo's for 35 years. But what was interesting was the positions that people held who have spoken up and they are willing to put their heads on the block

    DISCLOSURE PROJECT OBJECTIVES

    ********************************

To hold open, secrecy-free hearings on the UFO/Extraterrestrial presence on and around Earth.

To hold open hearings on advanced energy and propulsion systems that, when publicly released, will provide solutions to global environmental challenges.

To enact legislation which will ban all space-based weapons.

To enact comprehensive legislation to research, develop and explore space peacefully and cooperatively with all cultures on Earth and in space.

The day the governments come clean on UFO's, I will win the lottery and be a millionaire. So like winning the lottery, it will never happen.

If you had tens of thousands of people around the world saying they saw the Virgin Mary appearing, you would have a full scale investigation going on. More people report UFO's in almost every place on the globe for hundreds of years and nobody does nothing. Makes a lot of sense.
    1. acousticguitarist
read about the project and why it exists. Your opinion is valid, but if you care to take the time to get an understanding of the information which is coming forward and who these people are, you will be better informed.
  9. wehireu
A lot of UFOs are not what you think they are, and what the government tells you they are not is both true and misleading. There are a lot of things which they can be, maybe aliens, maybe space blimps the airship to orbit kind, maybe weather patterns, maybe balloons, maybe black aircraft, but the most likely thing is not what you think they are and what the government tells you they are. It is easy for both sides to be wrong or misleading.
    1. acousticguitarist
Read about the Disclosure Project thoroughly and then comment back. Until then it is only an opinion, a valid one but an uninformed one
  10. NatetheGrate
Read some Jung and get back to us.
    1. acousticguitarist
Get an understanding of the Disclosure Project and get back to us.
  11. crazyTsu
400 out of 6 billion is no big deal
    1. acousticguitarist
How about you read about the Disclosure Project, find out who the people are. Check the credentials of the people, who they worked for, the roles which they had working for the Military, the Navy, the CIA, NSA, NASA, etc and get an idea of the information that they are saying, their commitment to stand up before US congress and then when you are informed about the Disclosure project, what it is and the importance to you, and your descendants. Then respond in a manner which is fitting to the thousands of hours that have been put into this very important event, until then your response is flippant.
    2. crazyTsu
To me 400 people from 1 region of the world are more flippant
    3. acousticguitarist
Read about the Project, there are major military people and intelligence. They held positions of authority. One of the guys was in charge of collecting the bodies from crashed craft.

If it was 400 stoned people smoking bongs it would not be credible. It's your choice not to check it out, your choice to respond however you like but at least research it properly and then give a response which is relevant to the topic.
    4. crazyTsu
it all happened with Americans, because the rest of the world has better things to do
Not to be mistaken as my having anything against them.. but it's all media's effort thru dull days
    5. acousticguitarist
Dr Greer is American, yes. I am not. I have been interested in ufo phenomena for 35 years.

It's your right to turn a blind eye to probably one of the major events of our time.
    6. crazyTsu
unfortunate u got taken in by them
    7. acousticguitarist
obviously you are not interested in being informed about the project. have a great life
    8. crazyTsu
      Yep n u 2 .. hope u find some honey
    9. acousticguitarist
may your code always have the right syntax :-)
  12. HollytheHousewife
Seriously we caught our pres getting a bj from someone. If we can uncover that,we can certainly uncover classified ufo stuff
    1. crazyTsu
As the bear mentioned there are tons of testimonies, but in my opinion what they need is an equivalent of E! magazine to make in industry out of it
    2. acousticguitarist
      what is a bj?

It would be easy to do $47 eBook, or at least the t-shirt "No Weapons in Space"
    3. acousticguitarist
i am not the Bear, I am a Red Panda, there is a difference. We eat bamboo, eat fruit salad and kiss girl pandas for an hour
    4. crazyTsu
well in that case I wish you find some nice tender bamboo shoots and plenty of girl pandas to give u bj's
    5. acousticguitarist
      what is a bj?
  13. HollytheHousewife
    Poor poor panda bear
  14. crazyTsu
    It's bear's joys
    1. acousticguitarist
make it pj's and i can have a party
  15. HollytheHousewife
    Of course...why didn't I think of that
    Happy happy joy joy
    1. PetLvr
Acoustic .. you should give some warning what these videos are and what they are about ... I've been trying to watch that initial first video all friggin day .. (I think I'm up to 23 minutes now) .. I actually regret starting to watch that conspiracy video~! lol

// ps - i meant the video harveyavatar posted //
    2. acousticguitarist
so sorry to cause you stress, I almost did write above each.

the three are about the disclosure project. The First is a short clip about a guy who saw some things at NASA which he shouldn't have

The second was a two hour movie about various gov employees stepping up and telling their story.

The third was a a short list of people stating their roles and their willingness to testify before congress
    3. acousticguitarist
Soryy, they are all the short ones, I got them mixed up
  16. SoftwareGal
It is fantasy made profession. When you are serious, everthing turns to be believeable.
    1. acousticguitarist
      software girlie

Check out what the project is about and then decide once you are informed. It's quite difficult to genuinely pass a judgement about something if you are unaware of the facts being presented.
  17. DeadRooster
If they worked for the US government, they are probably crazy.
    1. acousticguitarist
      that's funny
    2. acousticguitarist
what's the rarest thing in the world?

      Government worker's sweat
  18. HollytheHousewife
    Ur so funny
Seriously though I did watch all your clips. Why didn't anyone get pics and smuggle them out? That's the 1st thing I would've done
    1. acousticguitarist
      yeah, and end up dead
    2. HollytheHousewife
Not if it's true...if they were legit it would be #1 news story
    3. acousticguitarist
People go disappearing all the time. Check out the Project properly and then make a decision. I avoided it for about five years thinking that it was probably a load of crap. And recently I watched a video on it and once I was aware of the objectives and the backgrounds of many of the people, it was rather hard to consider it a sham.

      PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A CALL ON U.S. CONGRESS FOR HEARINGS & LEGISLATION

To hold open, secrecy-free hearings on the UFO/Extraterrestrial presence on and around Earth.

To hold open hearings on advanced energy and propulsion systems that, when publicly released, will provide solutions to global environmental challenges.

Where do you see the whole thing at
    5. acousticguitarist
just go to the disclosure site and start to work you way through it, there is a video of some sort available, here is a link, it's very long and was taken at the National Press Club

I think that UFOS exist. Problem is, false information has been disseminated in the mix, hoaxes and fake videos in order to confuse the public. It's like the crop circles. A large number of people still think that crop circles are a bunch of people, sneaking into a farm in the middle of the night, with flashlights (they've got to see what they're doing, right?) and stomping on grass and making perfectly geometric and exquisite shapes. In other words, when crop circles appear, more so now than ever, there is always someone who says "it's a hoax" by pointing people out to one or two incidents of badly made, obviously human-made crop circles. The same goes for UFOS. Despite the caliber of scientists, investigators, even MDs defending the notion that we're not alone, there are those who still want to believe that UFOS are hoaxes. There has to be opposition in all things in this world. The only way everyone will come to a concensus on this UFO thing is by having one actually appear to thousands of witnesses. Wait, isn't that what happened in Phoenix, Arizona a while back?
Either we're not alone in the universe OR we have some highly sophisticated secret weapons and aircraft out there that appear to be UFOS when in reality they are our own making. I believe in both possibilities. One thing I'm not sure about is what they want and why they don't DO anything, at least anything measurable.
    1. harveyavatar
"The only way everyone will come to a concensus on this UFO thing is by having one actually appear to thousands of witnesses."

I wouldn't necessarily be convinced. Holographic technology is reportedly quite advanced.
  20. lnclark1950
If we look at the pages of the Bible we can find that people have had encounters with strange beings every since God created mankind. The question is who are these beings and how do they relate to UFOs? I believe what we call UFOs today are either what the Bible calls fallen Angels or the instruments they travel in. I believe they do not harm humans or cause any physical damge is they are limited to what God will allow them to do. Some will call this all werid but it is not any more strange than believing UFOs are from other planets. I guess the truth is noone really knows and we all have to come to our own conclusions with the information we have.

Let me see if I got it... The important dude in the first clip was told by a less important dude (that he didn't even know), that there is an alien base on the dark side of the moon, and then the dude showed him a few photographs of buildings. That's his big true story he's going to tell the Congress??? Come on, I know a few people at work (myself included) that would do such a thing as a joke...

      UFO National Press Conference 04/20/2009

Exopolitics Denmark and Germany were present at the Press Conference held at the National Press Club in Washington DC on April 20 2009.

Former Apollo astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell called upon the United States government to disclose the extraterrestrial presence.

Former fighter pilot Milton Torres related his story of how he was ordered to shoot at an aircraft carrier sized UFO over England in the 50s.

Former employee at the British Ministry of Defence Nick Pope supported Milton Torres' story.

The American historian Richard Dolan introduced the second volume of his new book: UFOs and the National Security State.

Alfred Webre (JD) encouraged nations to bring up the UFO subject in the UN.

Dr. Roger Leir presented new physical evidence of human contact with extraterrestrial beings. He was flanked by metallurgist Alex Moser Ph.D. and Senior Member of Technical Staff at YTC America INC.

Former CNN news anchor Cherryl Jones went to the podium to support the efforts to get governments to disclose the ET presence.

The press conference was covered by CNN and was hosted by Stephen Bassett and Paradigm Research Group.

Experimental planes, airships, weather balloons, and a great imagination.
    3. Timesobserver
Urikalish, we have accounts from credible pilots who have seen these things in broad daylight. There is no way that a wingless, metal disk that defies the laws of gravity that's 20 feet away from you can be mistaken for a weather balloon or another airplane.
    4. urikalish
About 15-20 years ago, I read about a group of friends, all pilots of light planes, decided to prank people. They used to fly at night in a tight formation using specially designed flashing lights to simulate a UFO. They enjoyed reading the "sightings" in the local newspaper.
    5. Timesobserver
Just because a few people pranked others doesn't mean that all UFO sightings are faked. As I said before, there are sightings that are made in day light and can't be mistaken for anything else.
    6. urikalish
Okay, but before we go on...
      Was 9-11 an inside job?
Did we land on the moon?
      What about Bigfoot/Nessie?
(I need to know if you're a reasonable dude or not)
    7. Timesobserver
Urikalish, I'm only a quarter of a fanatic.

Was 9-11 an inside job? No, and it's funny that you mentioned that because I recently wrote an editorial that we should fight the 9/11 truth movement because of their false claims.

      www.thetimesobserver.com/stop_911_truth.php

Did we land on the moon? Yes, we did land on the moon. If we had the technology to make such a great looking film such as the moon landing, then most of the sci fi movies during that time would look great. Also, my great uncle worked with Neil Armstrong to get him to the moon and he told me a few good stories. Plus, we have all of those great moon rocks too. Hard to ignore that.

      What about Bigfoot/Nessie?Yes I do.

Why do I believe in UFOs and bigfoots? We have credible witnesses, which can't be said about the 9/11 truthers or the moon-landing people.

If we had one government official who came out and either said, "Yeah, I heard President Bush planning the 9/11 attacks" or "Yeah, I was there when we faked the mooning landing and here's a list of people who were there with me and the blooper reel," then I would say we have something there. But so far, no one has ever came out and said those things.

Listen, we have expert pilots and military officials (and other professionals) who have seen and photographed UFOs and some of them have said that the government knows something about it. That's pretty impressive right there.

Bigfoot? We have people for hundreds of years, in different countries, reporting nearly the same type of creature. Plus we have hair that has been tested that can't be determined. Heck, we even have police and military men and women who have seen this thing. Again, some credible witnesses.

Now, I call myself a skeptical believer. I believe in this stuff only because of the witnesses and/or evidence. It doesn't mean I'm going to believe all of these claims and I've been known to debunk a few.

But I also know from my own experiences as a journalist that when you have countless people over hundreds of years reporting the same thing or creature, then there must be something to it, especially when you have professionals coming out too. That's just too hard to ignore.
    8. urikalish
      @Timesobserver,
Sorry dude, but I must go out now. Today is the Hebrew new year's eve, and my parents are waiting for us. I'll get back in a few hours, and we'll continue this chat...
    9. Timesobserver
Have fun and I understand. We'll chat later once we get the chance.
  22. Timesobserver
Videoman, thanks for bringing up some very credible witnesses. I've always found it amazing how many who don't believe in UFOs tend to ignore those credible witnesses.

And as a journalist, I'm even more amazed at how most of the media doesn't give this topic an objective look at. If it is Bush's Iraq war or Obama's healthcare, CNN, FOX News, The New York Times and others sink their teeth into those topics and would constantly keep digging into it.

Yet, we have military officials, professional pilots, astronauts, and politicians (and regular people, but the media doesn't seem to hold them with much regard) who have seen and in some cases photographed UFOs and/or admitted that the government knows about UFOs.

You would think the media would say, "Holly sh!t, maybe there is something to this. Let's sink our teeth into this and not let go until we get some real, solid information."
    1. videoman
      TIMEObserver:

It's easier NOT to believe than do the work that's involved in believing. Faith without works is dead. People who don't believe can just mock evidence and those who choose to believe. People who believe are often studying, researching, reading, analyzing, comparing notes, etc. It usually takes little or no effort NOT to believe in anything.
Because my wife and I and others on the same day have y seen an UFO - not necessarily something from another planet/world - just an Unidentified Flying Object, I did more research, used my brain and came to the conclusion that both crop circles (abundant evidence available) and UFOs (subject to analysis) are very possible. No, I don’t believe in green aliens and any Hollywoodish tales.
However, the caliber of scientists, doctors, pilots, astronauts and others who stand behind the possibility and some even affirming the existence of UFO's lends the topic a lot more credibility than those who sit in front of the computer and call everything a hoax, whether it be God, UFOs, Ghosts, etc.
Something doesn't cease to exist just because we don't believe in it. I have never seen a planet 10 x the size of Earth that’s located 100,000 light years from here, yet, scientists can prove that it's out there and that it exists. My inability to go there and check it out doesn't make planet "X" a hoax or inexistent.
Increasingly, more complex crop circles and UFO sightings are being seen worldwide. It’s insane to think that complex crop circles are a bunch of guys stomping grass in the middle of the night (or smoking it) Simple logic dictates that you can’t see what you’re doing on acres of land without lights and orchestrated effort. . All of that work would also have to be done without being noticed. When was the last time crop circle makers were caught in the act? A few hoaxers have confessed to making them but their crop circle designs were obviously lacking in qualify and symmetric. Not to mention that it would take dozens of highly skilled grass stompers to create the more complex geometrical designs that have “cropped up” lately. Then, then have to heat up all the seeds and cause thermal changes on them.

Man made in the middle of the night? Yeah, right.

      www.cropcircleconnector.com/anasazi/time2007x.html

    1. nothingprofound
      Then there's also:

"Some things have to be believed to be seen."
  24. Chucklington
Well, UFOs are exactly that; Unidentified Flying Objects. They can probably all be explained as unidentified air craft or natural phenomenon. And I'm speaking as someone who's had a lifelong obsession with UFOs and aliens!
  25. Rainhat
I checked out the site and some of the stuff there, and a few questions come to mind. Like this one: If the US government has in its possession all these cool technologies like cold fusion, cool propulsion systems, free energy generation and the answers to pollution and poverty, then why oh why are they not being used? What possible reason would they have for keeping a propulsion system capable of keeping a plane in the air at mach 10 indefinitely in their back pocket, and at the same time spending millions of dollars researching things like scramjets and rocket engines? Why keep coal electricity plants running if they have a source of free energy?

Second, the site claims that space ships have been shot down, collected and studied since the 1940s, possibly even the 1930s. How...? In the 40's we had airplanes like this one:

Are you telling me that *this* thing is capable of hunting and shooting down a space ship that traveled 200 billion km through space in a reasonable amount of time, and that is capable of all the incredible aerial maneuvers that those airline pilots say the UFOs performed? The space ship pilot would have had to have been stoned out of his wits on weed or something.
    1. Timesobserver
Not all UFOs do their fancy flying. And if the claims are true, that we found these crashed UFOs and we have cold fusion, apparently, we don't have the means and/or knowledge of mass producing them. Once that's figured out, they have to figure out a reasonable price tag so the average person can buy it.

But I've never heard of claims that UFO tech can clean up pollution and help the poor.

Now, are these claims true? Who knows, but we do have some credible military officials who have come out and said so. Should we believe them off the bat? No, but since they are pretty credible, a serious and objective investigation should be done.
  26. quack18
i think the whole UFO notion is a cover up for some secret projects that government try out, but use it to confuse people and make them think there are things from outside. but most can be top sercret government experiments on the people, such as weird looking planes, or some visual lighting tricks in the dark skies. its odd that almost all the sightings that have happened, were at night, over unpopulated areas. most happen over small towns in the deserts, or empty fields, stuff like that. and all the reports ive seen in documentaries happened over north and south america, ive nver heard of a sighting in the middle east, africa, or asia. am sure russia has some top secret projects also which it also uses the idea of UFO to cover it up.
  27. drjay1966
In the United States there's a person named Glenn Beck. He makes a fortune telling malicious lies and millions of Americans believe his every word. So I'm supposed to care that 400 Americans believe in UFO's?
  28. Timesobserver
I think a lot more than 400 Americans believe in UFOs.

But here's something that I want to throw out: The U.K., France and Russia have released sealed government documents regarding UFO sightings in their countries and they admit that a lot of those claims are not from this Earth.

In fact, France has a Web site about these government documents: www.cnes-geipan.fr/

We also have a few other countries, such as Peru and Ecuador, that admit that UFOs are real and they come from space.

So it's good to keep an open mind about these things.
    1. Timesobserver
Well, I clearly made a mistake. The 400 Americans mentioned are really "400 government, military, and intelligence community witnesses testifying to their direct, personal, first hand experience with UFOs ..."

That's something to make you stand up and take notice, huh?
  29. videoman
I believe in UFOS. Either from here or elsewhere. The only real challenge with UFOS over the years is that not one of them has really done anything to us or to the Earth that we can measure, except for alleged crashes and debris. So, if such aliens do exist, what's their purpose? What are they doing here? What's all the flying around the planet for? Are they originally from here, from our past? Are they the ones sending messages through increasingly complex crop circles? If yes, why? Because they don't interact with mankind or the planet in measureable form, it's easier to assume that they are simply covert military operations that use super high tech defense/attack machines capable of flying or intercepting threats at astronomical speeds. I don't think we will ever know until something measureable happens. Until then, it's anyone's guess.
  30. Theresa111
NIce. Thanks for this information Tony!
  31. Ru
Because people like you will write about them and the rest of us will stay up late on a Saturday evening commenting on it silly.
  32. quack18
I once saw on discovery channel, a scientist explained that if these aliens are able to reach us, it means that their technology is ahead of ours by hundreds of years, much much more developed than ours because the closest star is around 300,000 light years or more, i think much more than that also. so imagine how developed they would be in order for them to reach us, and in the end, not be able to land?? or transmit a signal or something. kind of weird??? i do believe that their are living organisms in other stars, since they say there are over billions of stars in the galaxy, each with its own solar system, so there has to be some sort of living species somewhere.
    1. Rainhat
Actually, the closest star is Proxima Centauri, about 4,2 lightyears away. And not every star has planets in orbit.

UFOs are probably real. Otherwise secret government agencies will not be threatening or killing whistleblowers who are coming out clean about UFOs. If these secret government agencies had nothing to hide, why are they threatening whistleblowers who are coming out clean about UFOs. We may not be able to prove that UFO exist but we can't prove that it doesn't exist either. I guess it is up to you to believe it or not.
