For me. I would go back to the summer my dad died. @ 15 there is alot you say and don't mean and alot you flat don't say.
  2. MissSuzie
I would not want to relive any of my past. I'll keep moving forward, thank you.
    1. iyaayasmoderator
I can appreciate that answer. I don't wish to dwell on the past, but hope to learn from the mistakes I've made.
    2. MissSuzie
I have learned from my mistakes. That's why I don't want to repeat them. It would just be torture then.
    3. christibroer
I agree with you - after the past I've experienced forward is the only way to go!
    4. 7thheaven
      Well said.
  3. dcarroll
I made decisions that were correct at the time and my experience level.
Today, I might think I would have done differently.
    I wouldn't go back.
I'm better for the mistakes. In that respect, they were not mistakes.
  4. Floormodel
I'd remain where I am. My decision were all made with eyes open and the best of intentions and each one had some positive repercussions.
    1. cookingasshole
      no place like the present!
  5. iyaayasmoderator
    Well how about this......................

Do you ever go to the same place twice? Do you ever revisit anything you have done or been before?

If so, why do you do that if you don't want repeats in history?
    1. dcarroll
      You've got me.
I go back to the bathroom daily.
It doesn't help, I have to go daily.

Is there a twelve step program for that?
    2. iyaayasmoderator
no program, just a point about people who say they would never go back in time for no reason, it is the past, what is done is done. Yet, we go to the same stores, the places to eat, the same school, the same job, where we repeat the same things over and over.

For the learner's of their mistakes crowd, it would seem that they won't go back to certain places because they didn't like those places. In the end, they moved on.

There isn't a real answer here. We dream of the past. We dream of the future also. When does our past actually become who we are?
  6. FredSr2009
    wouldn't want to relive anything.
  7. Anok
Do you mean go back just to visit, or to relive the whole thing over? Coz there are a lot of times I'd like to visit for a bit, but I do not want to relive all of it
  8. dbowles1017
a couple of seconds ago before I read this thread... kidding.

I'd like to visit ancient roman times. T'would be epic.
  9. Shiley
I would go back to three years before my gram passed away and I would begin typing like a mad woman.
  10. radioflyer1980
I would go to right after I got the time machine and warn myself not to use it under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES... just to screw with myself. Then I'd hand me the winning lottery numbers.

After I was done with that, I'd probably stop here and there in the past. I'd like to see a Beatles concert around 1964, for example.
  11. dosox
I'll go back to anytime but I don't wanna come back
    1. Agit8r
      have you considered medication? o_0
  12. Stillthinking
Ooh, there are so many places I would want to visit! I would want to see ancient Rome, visit the royal courts in Korea, China and Japan, visit Siam. I would want to meet Shakespeare, Michelangelo, Davinci, Elizabeth I, Henry VIII, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar. In the twentieth century, I would want to meet Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jackson Pollack, Martin Luther King.

I think this is why I love Doctor Who so much.
    1. timethief
Hey, you stole part of my list. Can I come with you? Also, if we are going to become time traveling companions, then I have some other people and locations I would like to add to that list. For example: I want to visit Matisse in Polynesia.
    2. Stillthinking
Done! Just don't step on any butterflies..
    3. yunyi2009
I would definately like to visit all those historical figures especially those genius of Renaissance. Ancient Greece was definately my first choice to visit:-)
  13. harveyavatar
I would go back to the early part of 2005 so I could have a nice long chat with my good buddy Avatar, whose musings I have translated on my blog. That would be easier than going back to 5 centuries BC to meet Aristotle, whom I would have to speak to in Ancient Greek. lol!
  14. satijournal
I'd find out what the winning lottery number is, then go back in time a few hours before the drawing and buy that number.
  15. Agit8r
I'd go back 8 and 1/2 years, tell everybody that Bush was going to turn our country into a police state and socialize our financial system...

...as if anyone would believe me ) _ (
    1. Stillthinking
He would have opened an NSA file on you and then sent you to Gitmo.
    2. Agit8r
gitmo? probly get sent straight to the penis-scalpel base in syria
  16. wagerwitch
I think that while - I am not sure what I'm going to do with my life right now - that I am happy that I am me - and would not change MY life.

But - I would not min going into the past - and being a wealthy visitor to meet all of those peoples Still wrote about...

But ---- I would add Cleopatra into the mix - because she is one of the most amazing women in the WORLD - ever.
    1. Stillthinking
She was on my list. You could call her the first feminist CEO.

She should have never gotten involved with that Mark Antony. It's always a man who brings it all down.
    2. wagerwitch
      Totally missed that up there!

      Yikes!

Nah --- see - she fell in LOVE... LOVE...

I've always wondered if she was attempting to overthrow Ceasar to put Marc Anthony in his place - and Anthony possibly was responsible for the death of Ceasar - except the council took over instead of placing Anthony - superseded him. As the council detested Cleopatra since she was such a Home Wrecker. LMAO!
  17. Mkcoy
Yeah I'd like to and I'd change a few things.
Or at the least make sure I never done something I shouldn't have or done something I should of. Definitely. Who wouldn't?
  18. Rory
I'd redo high school and actually apply myself. And, during that time, I'd look to create Yahoo!
    1. Stillthinking
Why stop at yahoo? Invent the Google algorithm and the Ipod!

Oh wait, you were referencing Back to the Future weren't you...or was it a different time travel movie?
    2. Rory
@Still ... cuz I don't think I truly have the capacity to create those algorithms!! LOL ... maybe if I paid attention in class, I might have gained the skills. And, I can't remember if it was or wasn't a Back to the Future movie where buddy drove away at the end in a car with the Yahoo license plate. Damn memory fades as you get older!!! LOL.
  19. FredSr2009
What you are and where you are at this time in history is the result of decisions made throughout your past.

Therefore, if one did go back and changed one little thing, where he left from would no longer exist.
  20. PearlTrader
I would like to go back to 11.09.2001 to see what actually happened there at W.T.C and Pentagon. I would like to witness the incident myself for I'm not yet sure who was behind these sad incidents wich later resulted in the destruction of Iraq and Afghanistan.
  21. PearlTrader
    harveyavatar,

Thanks for the link, it really helped.
  22. yunyi2009
Well, time machine is the most fascinating invention and I really hope I could see it becomes true. In my own life time I would love to go back to to the time when I was teenager and choose to go into regular high school instead of going to art high school which was my parents' choice.
  23. egenie
I'd rather go into the future. The only reason I'd go back is just to be in my 20's again.
    1. JonnyDunMind
I was about to say this. I don't want to change anything in the past, but I'd sooner go into the future where everything is new and different.
  24. win2009
i don't go to bac but i want go to my future coz everything in back is only lesson to do the best in now and tomorrow
  25. JonnyDunMind
I'd go back to 18AD, and send Jesus off the rails. Donkey based road trips and the like. His Dad would be so mad at me.

If I was to go back, it'd have to be far enough for it to be an adventure.

But I'd much sooner go forward. If cryogenics were possible and 100% safe, I honestly think I'd go for it.
  26. HollytheHousewife
I would go to the exact moment my dad would've taken his last breath (me being the age I am now) and say please don't because you screwed up a lot of people's heads. Especially your son and daughter.
