   I would conservatively invest that money in multiple guaranteed accounts so the principle was always preserved. I would use the interest to supplement my current income and would not leave my job.

      With a million dollars, I'd guess you can demand at least 5% even in today's environment, but it would likely be tied up in CDs or Money Market Accounts v. a Savings account

    I would pay my student loans off and my mother doctor bills, then I would invest about 100 grand and save the rest but I wouldn't tell anyone that I had it. Once I begin to see a return on my investment after a year I would purchase a house with my profits not touching my savings.
