If you Twitter, has it helped you promote your blog?

Since you joined Twitter have you promoted your blog on there or started with the automatic updates when you publish your blog.

How are you finding your branding going, have you changed your background to match your blog?

I think it's important to use twitter for promotion, what do you think?

I use Twitter, and I find that it helps to promote my content. I've been successful with promoting other people's content through retweeting, without expecting anything in return. I've made friends that way, and we look for ways to help each other out.

I don't worry too much about design on Twitter, I just focus on quality tweets.

So-so. I don't use my Twitter account to promote my blog very much, but what promotion I have done has fed a trickle of traffic to my blog.

  It is quite nice when you can see some people on there are genuine and give feedback about your blog.

yeah it has helped somewhat.. i think facebook has helped a bit too.. I know I've only had my blog for about 2 weeks and I have about 20 followers from them but twitter isnt the BEST way unless you have a loyal following that you are in constant touch with because they are more likely to read. That is why I have joined blogging networks like this to swap blogs with people..

  My blog hasn't been running long and at first I didn't know whether to promote it or not but I'm glad I did. Although I don't use Facebook for it, actually I didn't even think about using Facebook. Will do now :-)

Of course. Use Google Analytics to track your readers and you'll know exactly where they come from.

Yes, I have been using twitter as a means to promote my blogs. I have gotten quite a few hits from my twitter account. I actually dedicated an entire blog post to the Jesuses I follow on Twitter. hotforjesusformerfundie.blogspot.com/2009/06/i-have-decided-to-follow-jesus...

I don't use my account 100% for my blogs... but it doesn't hurt traffic.

Actually looking into more ways to use facebook. There are new fb apps to use which I'm looking into.

  I must admit I tend to just twitter on there rather than lots of promotion, I think you're meant to do 80% twitter and 20% promotion, I thin that's what mashable.com said.

I think Twitter helps somewhat with my blog traffic, it helps if you think of really creative titles to get your audience to click on those links

  Titles are important, if I see a twitter/blog title about another boost your page rank or seo tools, I don't look, its got to be gutsy to get my interest, preferably funny.

  Retwit is where you simply say the same as someone else but they said it first so you give them credit, e.g

  someone retwits me
  
  RT @millifan good morning
  
  I copy and paste their tweet and stick RT in front.

i use tweeter but i'm not sure if it is of great help to my blog or not. i receive some traffic from this site, but it is not much. i guess i'm not doing it right.

what is automatic update?
how to let the blog owner know it when i retweet their post?

  The automatic update I use is called twitterfeed.com and you link to your twitter account and add your rss and it updates your twitter account automatically, not straight away though but it lets peeps know you've added to your blog.
