I certainly don't, but now I find myself in the same boat. Any tips for keeping yourself from being discouraged or gaining more exposure? I must warn you, I am VERY new to this. So if I pout after receiving some critiques, ignore me. All responses are welcome!

I am a 14 Years old Blogger having 2 year Blogging experience.
I never hated new bloggers but i am happy to welcome them.
So please don't conclude with 'Nobody likes new bloggers', but you can say : 'Somebody Hates new bloggers' -
As the curmudgeon has let you out of the normal hazing process, I am only able to welcome you to BC and bid you to be careful with your link. Now that you've introduced yourself, its appearance may get your post deleted unless it's part of a larger discussion.
Other than that, be careful of the crazies and the freaks. The other three or four folks around here can be kind of fun.

Welcome to BC! It takes a little time to build up a readership but if you stick with it--you'll get there.
I like your blog's graphics a lot--I found the white text on pink background a little tough on my eyes, though. But I don't prefer white text usually. You might want to consider changing that because readers are finicky if they find your posts hard to read.
Best of luck to you! -

Welcome to BC.
The BC New Users Group has been created for the purpose of posting resource threads to the group noticeboard aimed at introducing bloggers, who are new members of BC, to the basics of effective networking and blog promotion within the BC community.
What’s key to networking effectively in any social media site is understanding that social networking efforts are best aimed at creating blog centered relationships with other bloggers, who have blogs that are related to your own, or who have blogs that are of interest to you. If you’d like to join the group, you will be welcomed.

We have an excellent Search utility with filters you can use to narrow your search so you can more easily locate blogs related to your own and blogs of interest to you. The search link is found on every BC Page www.blogcatalog.com/search
Also note the Help link appears on every BC page as well www.blogcatalog.com/help/
If you are looking for a step by step approach to increasing targeted organic traffic to your blog then I have a post that lays out all the steps. You will find the steps are internally linked to "how to" instructional posts.

I think you may gain some insight into what's expected in a thread posted into the various BC forum categories, including the Shameless Blog Promotion category by reading this post in the BC New Users Group.

Best wishes for happy blogging and effective networking at BC. -
May I suggest getting an avatar? it helps people recognise you more easily.
And I agree with GC that the template makes it a little hard to read after a minute. My eyes are kind of burning from the pink... perhaps switch the colours? so most of it is black with the clouds pink? That way you can keep the look without hurting my eyes! -
I highly recommend clicking on peoples avatars whereby your will be magically whisked away to their profile site. Here you may leave a message either public or private, add them as a friend, click on their thumb shot and go to their web log profile site. You may add them as a favorite, give a brief description to aid BC in their directory listing or rate their blog from one to five. Remember to be kind, because most of us are sensitive about our work. It is hard getting a blog started and encompasses many hours of decision making, not to mention the creative juices it demands of its author. SImply visit, read, and others will automatically do the same. Join in the discussions and pretty soon you will feel so comfortable you will wonder how you managed before joining in. Cheers!

wellll I do not exactly believe in people actually hate new bloggers or not.
Why? well because blogging in it's core is really all about your own vision of which ever you are talking about.
Blogging I believe it's how you think and it's our way of sharing those thoughts and personal opinions to every one and to the world =)
so If some one might not like a blogger rambling about something it's really personal preferences
So don't let that hold you back, just let it GO! blog about what you blog about and you'll always find some one to read and like
That's just my humble opinion, some might agree some might not. I think, I share my opinion.. I blog and so do you
welcome to BC
P.S. side note
get an avatar

Wow I am loving the critique and I'm trying to take it all in. Thank you guys so much and thanks for the welcome. Right now I am excited, but I know discouragement is lurking around the corner.
I will be changing my background in the morning because even though the design was cute, I was worried about how hard it would be to read.
Okay okay about the avatar. LMAO@The Stupid rank. Once I get my avatar, what will be my rank then? -
Well I added you on blogspot, so you should add me. I don't know the secret to gaining exposure. It's a hard process and takes a lot of patience. In the meantime, plaster your blog link all over the Internet on a daily basis. Get that name out there! And look to reciprocate any blogger that gives you a bit of exposure. It's about tit for tat.

i hope you like the topics you blog about because consistently low traffic is a motivation killer. when the motivation is killed you can run on interest. i am also new to blogging and this is what i have done and as traffic picks up and the comments increase and to get to know your way aroung blogging becomes quite fan(i am at this stage now)

My 2 cents.
First of all I think your blog is fun! You have some cool posts on there.
Second of all, who cares if you're a new blogger!! Just do it and have fun and we all started somewhere so who are we to make fun of you. I personally like blogs like yours better than the ones about making money online, etc. OVERdone!
Third, I have been trying to post comments on your blog but seem to have a problem with the security words....they dont' display properly. So I can't comment. -
I love you. There, I'll just say it. I read the first post and cracked up, then cracked up again to find that that man was from Houston...where I live (but hate...).\
Welcome.
My tip: Keep it real and stay sarcasticly funny, every one loves a tough girl.
