   As a British person, I'd just like to apologise for all the sh*t we put our colonies through...if I'd been king/prime minister/Indian envoy I'd have wanted to give you independence long before - actually I'd have argued against colonising you in the first place.

      Some of the shit the British(of old) did to India was &^%$#&.. but the bright(ish) side(in a miniscule way) is that if you didn't colonize in the first place, there might not have been an Indian nation as weknow today..

      if only Lord Mountbatten had become jealous 4 weeks earlier.. around July 4th
      
      (in case you are wondering about the jealousy, some accounts say Lady Mountbatten had a crush on Nehru and so the viceroy wanted to get the hell out of India as soon as possible)
