I'm a big fan of Steven Spielberg and when I heard he was making another Indy movie I was all riled up.

But then I learned he had cast Shia LaBeouf and I cant stand that guy. I havent watched the movie yet but I will since it is Spielberg after all but I will be ready for dissapointment.
    1. chelsi
Aww.. don't hate on Shia, lol.

Oh please, the robots had more facial experssions than him in Transformers.
    3. legbamel
That made me laugh out loud, so I had to read it to hubby. He said, "To be fair, they did a really good job with the robots."

It was a good, escapist movie. I saw a matinee showing of it for 6 bucks. It had a lot of action in it. Good ending. I liked it. Some of the stuff about the crystal skulls is true. Of course, a big portion is made up but that's part of the fun. I like movies like this.
    1. chelsi
Ok, I heard that there were a bunch of elements in it that weren't really Indiana Jones-ish, whatever that means
    2. LGramlich
Actually the whole "crystal skull" mystery was debunked long ago as completely fraudulent.

I LOVE Indy & can`t wait to see this recent one ....

Haven't yet - but reeaaalllyyy want to - big fan of the franchise - this one looks fun - NOT art - just fun - you have to go into these kinda movies in the right frame of mind I think.
  12. SyntaxOfL
    will check it, seems obligatory
  13. Arcticulates
I haven't seen it yet, and can't wait. I love all the Indiana Jones movies, we still have Indiana Jones, movie marathons at our house once in a while.. They are fun, exciting, and can make your imagination soar!
  14. Lieblingartcrafts
I'm seeing it today or tomorrow.

    I'm worried.

I love Indy and hope it's not ruined by excessive CGI like the new Star Wars Trilogy was. Those things sucked. They had the look, feel, and acting of a PowerPoint presentation. Yuck.

I'll post back after seeing it!
    1. Shiley
I heard that they tried to keep it true to the series.
  15. pjmacgold
well it depends on how you define a good movie, in terms of the action, sfx and soundtrack well i can say its great, but the whole idea of an alien spacecraft and the crystal skulls coming from the bones of an alien, it doesn't make since its very sci-fi movie not close to reality for me a goo sci-fi movie is that everything has its explanation.just like back to the future its a well informed movie....
    1. legbamel
Seriously, put the word SPOILER at the beginning of posts like that. Some people like to see a movie or read a book without knowing critical plot points in advance.
    2. pjmacgold
oh sorry forgot to put spoiler on it I'm just new in posting on forums like this....

Love Indiana Jones, adored Harrison Ford, but I'm cheap LOL and usually wait for the movie on DVD or HBO. Might break down and go to the theater for this one...
  17. ekim941
I think that "National treasure" is the modern day Indiana jones.

    Just my opinion
    1. chelsi
      Yeah, I can see that.
  18. wehireu
Waiting for DVD on this one. Theater costs too much.
  19. balidreamhome
why it calls Indiana Jones, why not Californiana Jones or Washingtoniana Jones or else?
    1. chelsi
Dude, my vote goes to Washingtoniana Jones for sure.
  20. balidreamhome
    Indonesiana Jones ha ha ha
  21. buyersweb
Dang Indiana Jones can't ever forget his hat...geez you have to see Indiani Jones. He is a legend.
  22. LGramlich
I think the extraterrestrial alien aspect is going to put me seriously off this movie. Although I'd like to see it, I'm VERY hesitant.

just think - it's 1957 and the movies have always dealt with mythological and what some would call conspiracy theories. so this really isn't any different than the other movies.

      from my no-spoiler review:
All of the Indy movie plotlines revolve around one premise: Indy is looking for some mythological, mythical something. The culture varies from Judaic to Hindi to Christian. Indy searches for this thing even though he thinks it's "just" an artifact. He never believes in the mysticism around the artifact when he begins the search - and at the end of the movie that mysticism is always proven to be truth and not just a myth.

Saw it yesterday - excellent! In keeping with the three movies before it I think. Not much in the way of special effects, as they decided to keep it all natural, proper stunts... not CGI!

All in all I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars
  24. ThriftShopRomantic
I enjoyed it. It was a bit like getting to see old friends again.
  25. G8rbryan
The IJ movie and the sequels never interested me. I know, I'm weird that way.
  26. genopianist54

Just REing because I love your avatar =)
  27. wandadog13
we have 5 kids between us so to take everyone to the cinema and buy popcorn/pick n mix and a drink it costs us £50 which is a lot for 2.5 hours of entertainment however can't wait to see it.
  28. dcole87
Saw Indy 4, and though it wasn't as good as Last Crusade, it was a good movie nonetheless.
  29. timnewbill
GO SEE IT. I LOVED IT.
  30. kevingoodman
I liked it. Not as good as the previous ones but still can't knock it. I kind of sensed that the acting wasn’t as serious and more lighthearted than previous Indies but I would still recommend it.
