Just want to ask who among you are users of Internet Explorer or have you switch to FireFox already?

Can anyone tell about www.msfirefox.com/

I like Firefox better than IE.
I've been using Maxthon and like some of it's features.
It is a fast browser.

I'm betting most here will be FF users.
I just recently started paying attention to the browser stats, and it's incredible what it can tell you about your click through rates. It's a great way to check traffic "quality" for monetizers.

Firefox by a mile. Need to access some IE features? Download an application like IE Tab (ietab.mozdev.org/) and you can toss out that version of IE you keep around for stuff that doesn't work with Firefox.
Apparently, the majority of people out there still use IE -- guess it's easier to use what comes standard than do a little work and upgrade.

IE.
Firefox crashes my computer...freezes it up like a naked woman in a blizzard.
My husband uses FF and when I use his laptop for anything, the browser seems confusing and unnecessarily complicated. -
Internet Explorer...never heard of it.

In All Fairness … Internet Explorer Still Stinks
www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2007/11/22/in-all-fairness-…-internet-explorer-st...
Reasons SEO’s Hate Internet Explorer:
(1) It is not a standard-compliant browser. Microsoft has set its own ’standard’ with IE.
(2) CSS rendering- it doesn’t happen. IE needs very specific (non-valid) commands within your CSS to render properly.
(3) No addons are available. With Firefox, users have a huge amount of customization with Firefox extensions.
(4) It doesn’t like certain types of code and will crash. If you don't believe me then read on. Here are the 7 best methods of crashing Internet Explorer 6 (IE7 is immune against most of them, but not all.) seo2.0.onreact.com/top-7-ways-to-crash-internet-explorer -
Firefox definitely. Whenever I build a website it looks fine in Firefox but then I have to view it in IE and I end up tearing my hair out and cursing Microsoft. I HATE IE!!!!

Opera is also a good browser. No "bloat" to speak of there but it has limitations. When I tried it Opera wasn't capable of displaying Flash and PDF, nor would it support video and sound. While I could can save bookmarks to your favorite pages, I could not save pages or other elements of pages. I strongly prefer Firefox over Opera.

I like firefox because its saves a lot of your information. What i also like about firefox is that when you loose connection and are kicked offline it saves the page you were on. . I dont know if Internt Explorer does that too but ya. But other then that either will do its not that big a deal to me.

This thread inspired my latest post on my blog.
Firefox Vs. IE
jonnyha.blogspot.com/2008/08/firefox-vs-internet-exporer.html -
internet explorer always has problems. like they come out with tabbed browsing and everything but its still buggy when it comes to viewing some sites. everyone uses firefox now. its like the global thing and people make sites for firefox. safari for windows is crap but safari on the mac is the best browser. better than firefox for windows or mac

No, I haven't. Have you tried Google Chrome? www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/i-love-google-chrome
-
Opera! ;-)
About IE, I prefer "custom" IE like Maxthon or Avant-Browser, really cool and "efficient". I tried Google Chrome, really fast and net-furious, but too "light" about options, now I wait and see for some.

I rarely use IE7. I'm a Firefox 3 user. After testing Chrome I would agree that it's faster than IE7 but I won't be changing to it from Firefox. I believe if any major conversion movement takes place it will be from IE to Chrome.

I have a site focused on cars and models. I think it has a demographic that isn't too interested in the browser war. Site - www.autoshowevents.com

4.Opera 2.79%
5.Mozilla 0.42%

@interestingingrid
Are you referring to IE6 (every web developer's nightmare) or IE7?
What do you prefer about IE?
I have multiple browsers and it's my experience that there's nothing that IE7 does better than Firefox 3. Moreover, the very useful extensions and addons for Firefox 3 are lacking in IE. And, that's why I'd be interested to know why you prefer IE.

I love Firefox and tried to get rid of Internet Explorer entirely but somehow that is not possible as you still need it for some things.
Correct me if I'm wrong people but I do not think you can get rid of Internet Explorer entirely. -
@pilotcommand
I do NOT believe there is "a battle" of browsers going on. lol
Many of us bloggers use more than one browser and all web developers certainly do. IMO that is not bound to change, nor should it.
In this case, I simply looked at the w3schools.com statistics that apply to the whole internet (see below) and got the answers. Also I have sitemeter on my blog so the browser share breakdown specific to my blog is already available to me.
www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
September 2008
IE7 26.3%
IE6 22.3%
CHROME 3.1%
FIREFOX 42.6%
MOZILLA 0.5%
SAFARI 2.7%
OPERA 2.0%
I wondered what useful purpose a poll could provide. Is it possible that the reason you are activating these 3 threads and dropping your links to your forum and poll into them is to shamelessly promote your forum? If so, then is this the correct approach to take? After all, you could simply post one Shameless Blog Promotion thread and promote your new forum in it.-
hi timethief.. just keeping the topic alive for other bloggers to comment and see their reactions... see those comments coming in? lol.. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and i share there viewpoints also. everyone is thinking differently and this discussion is merely its intention , am i right? =)
i didnt know there's actually in w3schools...thx for sharing that info... =)
if there's already the w3schools then that only means that the poll i found in the forum only complements what is already existing and is available to everyone who are openly wanted to participate, small blogger or big time bloggers. hey, look... im not the one who posted the survey... just helping out one Techronnati member there.. i just thought sharing it also here with an open heart and mind just like everybody else here linking several websites related to post i.e. google references, other forums, wikipedia, microsoft etc.. besides it's a related post to the topic... i mean no harm to you and to everybody else here. just an idea coming from a techronnati member.
yep i just did what you mentioned promoting the forum in shameless blog promotion and that's my blog ....

FF.
I also wrote an article about that too: eternalblackzero.blogspot.com/2008/10/software-review-firefox.html -
I have both Firefox and Internet explorer, can't see what the difference is to be honest. They display things differently which is annoying when you are trying to design a website lol Although that does help make sure people using either can read the site..
www.dosyrosie.blogspot.com -
If you have sufficient ram, only use one program at a time, and don't do anything other than just surf the web either program is fine. Here are the facts though. IE eats ram like nobodies business so if you keep a few programs open or you do more than simple surfing you are better off with Firefox. If you want to customize your surfing experience, you can't do that with IE, but it is easy with 1000's of addons for firefox. If you design anything online you have to use both along with a host of other browsers simply because a page is going to look different with other browsers. FF is the most compliant with web standards and IE is the least.

Firefox all the way!
pilotcommand,
This page is very popular and has reviews, tips, comments, polls and links to every browser on the web you may find very useful.

Firefox
Why because IE is so slow and from what I've read full of safety issues. Plus with FF you can add a whole bunch of cool extensions that I find handy everyday. I like the spell check and word count when writing as well.
I still have IE on my computer though because there are some web pages that only work with IE so I use it occasionally.
