Awesome! I have to get it!

      MSFIREFOX is IE7
  2. ender
you mean people still use IE? wow.
    1. brigid
They do if they want to access anything on a Microsoft website. Like manual Windows updates. grrrrr

I'm not going to be switching to Mac for everyday stuff anytime soon. (I like my freeware that's PC only.) Still, there are some problems that really should be addressed.
  3. weblogian
    I use daily
    IE for casual browsing
    Opera for my mail
    Netscape hardly
    Flock check XXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Firefox for blogging
  4. pilotcommand
i like Firefox 3 more than Internet Explorer 7. Much Faster...

I like Firefox better than IE.
I've been using Maxthon and like some of it's features.
    It is a fast browser.

like firefox 3. i finally downloaded it a few days ago and i like it.

i like the BIGGER Back button.
i like the zoom function using the scroll wheel on the mouse.
    i like the ad-ons i can download.
  7. Sway
neither, use 'Opera' it's far superior. It's also safer because no one knows about it. Opera is what firefox used to be.
  8. csiunatc
I'm betting most here will be FF users.

I just recently started paying attention to the browser stats, and it's incredible what it can tell you about your click through rates. It's a great way to check traffic "quality" for monetizers.

I was using Exploder 7 but with all my visits to blogs, BC and Entrecard it kept freezing up. I'm now using FF3 and LOVE it. Way faster and doesn't crap out on me.
  10. cooper
I rarely use IE though I have been using Safari for Windows at times recently.
  11. HawgWyld
Firefox by a mile. Need to access some IE features? Download an application like IE Tab (ietab.mozdev.org/) and you can toss out that version of IE you keep around for stuff that doesn't work with Firefox.

Apparently, the majority of people out there still use IE -- guess it's easier to use what comes standard than do a little work and upgrade.

I've just updated to Firefox 3.0.1 (their most recent update). I wouldn't use anything else. Internet Explorer (whatever version) is always very promising and ultimately very disappointing.
  13. huggingthecoast
    Firefox plus the ieTab extension.
    1. benspak
      Hell yeah!

i'm using both but more on firefox! =)

Firefox with addons like FasterFox,AdBlockerPlus truely Rocks!!
  20. casualblogger
I try to avoid IE, I use it mostly for testing purposes. I can't wait for the day to come, when I won't see any trace of IE6 in Google Analytics...
  21. DrowseyMonkey
    FireFox. Sooooo much better, faster.
  22. kristilinauer
    Firefox for me.

I hate the way IE reads my stylesheet on my website, and I don't know enough about stylesheets to know how to correct it.
  23. blogmyblogger
I hate IE but I love Microsoft...FF for me.:-)

FFox 3 Rocks! Lots of plugins
  25. sayzlim
Safari... haha, because Firefox doesn't work for my wordpress, dunno why...
  26. Arcticulates
I use both. Tho I am leaning more and more towards firefox
  27. mycutepetpics
    Firefox rocks!
  28. Darkblaze37
Havent you guys heard of Safari? Its faster than firefox (Im not a hater, I use both firefox and safari)
  29. slivatree
I use both but less problems on most things with firefox. I also use Opera which is adored here in the household by younger hackers!
  30. SamGrace
Firefox for sure. I can't even stand IE anymore.
  31. Theresa111
    Firefox and Safari
  32. RuinousRight
Firefox is faster than IE and has much better support for web standards (coding standards which allow developers to offer a much better experience).

I use Safari first, then Firefox and IE only because I have to.
  33. dotartdude
Microsoft stop making Internet Explorer for Macs.

I prefer Firefox over Safari, still.
    1. Darkblaze37
      The've stopped
  34. Wisco
I use FF for a lot of reasons, but #1 is the Sage RSS reader. Freakin' awesome little extension...
  35. timethief
I'm a Firefox fan. The extensions and addons are awesome. I use IE7 only under duress (ie. when I'm helping others with problems) however, I admit that it's a vast improvement over IE6, which is one terrible dog of a browser.
  36. hayvensage13
Firefox is better! Internet Explorer displays too many errors.
  37. ptitpraince
i use Firefox 2 (i tried FF3 but it was so slow that i went back to FF2)
  38. Sylvia
I just updated my version of Firefox to the new 3.0.1, The Fox Rocks!!

  39. wahyuy

Firefox - IE looks sort of old-fashioned and it seems slower and I'm not sure when I click on my emails, if it's registered and so I get around 6 yahoo mail log-ins (if you see what I mean)

    It's firefox by a distance

    IE.

Firefox crashes my computer...freezes it up like a naked woman in a blizzard.

My husband uses FF and when I use his laptop for anything, the browser seems confusing and unnecessarily complicated.
    1. HelloAnnie
hey! you would not like how it looks on IE for my site. Thank you for visiting. Am getting it fixed.
    2. benspak
Time to evolve cave woman! lol j/k but seriously, IE = Fail
    3. SweetViolet
Sorry Ben, but if evolution means dealing with my computer crashing or freezing hourly (as it does on FF), I'll stay up here in the trees with the monkeys...and IE.
  46. Gayan
I like firefox. It has many good features: saves tabs, allows a lot of plugins and extras
  47. lastingchange
The fonts in IE look nice, however the inordinate delay in loading pages definitely doesn't... Firefox all the way.
  48. wehireu
    Opera is better.
  49. fstasu
I mostly use Firefox, but I have IE to check how pages loaded look in both browsers. I have Opera, but don't much care for it, but that's because I'm not really used to it. Firefox is the fastest, with less freeze ups on my computer. It's all a matter of perspective.
  50. pilotcommand
wow i like the new icon of firefox... trendy and stylish

In All Fairness … Internet Explorer Still Stinks
    www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2007/11/22/in-all-fairness-…-internet-explorer-st...

    Reasons SEO’s Hate Internet Explorer:
    (1) It is not a standard-compliant browser. Microsoft has set its own ’standard’ with IE.
    (2) CSS rendering- it doesn’t happen. IE needs very specific (non-valid) commands within your CSS to render properly.
    (3) No addons are available. With Firefox, users have a huge amount of customization with Firefox extensions.
    (4) It doesn’t like certain types of code and will crash. If you don't believe me then read on. Here are the 7 best methods of crashing Internet Explorer 6 (IE7 is immune against most of them, but not all.) seo2.0.onreact.com/top-7-ways-to-crash-internet-explorer

Firefox. Internet Explorer freezes a lot and you can't get back your saves.
  53. Gecababe
    Firefox for me too.
  54. DonVa
I've been on Firefox for about a year, and can't stand it when I'm forced to use Internet Explorer (which I only do for sites that are absolutely incompatible with Firefox).

By the way, the new upgrades on Firefox are sweet, don't you think?
  55. pugmusic

Everyone seems to prefer Firefox, so do I...
  61. trouble
Firefox definitely. Whenever I build a website it looks fine in Firefox but then I have to view it in IE and I end up tearing my hair out and cursing Microsoft. I HATE IE!!!!
    1. timethief
      @trouble
You are not alone. All web developers loathe and despise IE6 (see the articles at the links I posted above). Leave your hair alone. Instead I recommend ripping up newspaper.
  62. velvethammer
Firefox. Hands down. No if's and's or but's about it.
Have ran Firefox for years and have never once looked back.

I despise MS and it's crap browser IE
    1. timethief
Opera is also a good browser. No "bloat" to speak of there but it has limitations. When I tried it Opera wasn't capable of displaying Flash and PDF, nor would it support video and sound. While I could can save bookmarks to your favorite pages, I could not save pages or other elements of pages. I strongly prefer Firefox over Opera.
  63. clioandme
Safari, Firefox, and Opera on Mac OS 10.4

Internet Explorer (on XP or Vista) won't work reliably on some of the web applications my university uses.
  64. Bayho
I like firefox because its saves a lot of your information. What i also like about firefox is that when you loose connection and are kicked offline it saves the page you were on. . I dont know if Internt Explorer does that too but ya. But other then that either will do its not that big a deal to me.
  65. jeremylong
    interesting question:
IE and Firefox both equally good.
Each has its own distinctive features.
  66. pilotcommand
I guess most of the users here are firerox lovers....
  67. fairchildonrage
My first love is Opera but my new love is Firefox! Hate the IE (sluggish much!) Firefox lately has incorporated most of Opera's features and IE7's too and more likely it provides the most convenience since most websites do recommend it. I go for Firefox from now on!
  68. thenglishteacher
I prefer firefox to IE but prefer safari to that..

I've been a supporter of IE for years and years, but than about 4 months ago they were having one bug after another and I couldn't load anything any more so I started looking around and found FireFox and tried it out, and now it's my fave browser.

  75. Anniepooh
IE - always have, always will. I have Firefox and Safari installed as well for backup and certain sites.
  76. Bayho
internet explorer always has problems. like they come out with tabbed browsing and everything but its still buggy when it comes to viewing some sites. everyone uses firefox now. its like the global thing and people make sites for firefox. safari for windows is crap but safari on the mac is the best browser. better than firefox for windows or mac
  77. pilotcommand
but have you tried the new IE 8 beta version?
  78. VANGAUGUIN
    Opera! ;-)

About IE, I prefer "custom" IE like Maxthon or Avant-Browser, really cool and "efficient". I tried Google Chrome, really fast and net-furious, but too "light" about options, now I wait and see for some.

I have been using IE7 but hate the speed. Just started using Google Chrome and even though its basic the speed increase in awesome.
  80. timethief
I rarely use IE7. I'm a Firefox 3 user. After testing Chrome I would agree that it's faster than IE7 but I won't be changing to it from Firefox. I believe if any major conversion movement takes place it will be from IE to Chrome.

Are you referring to IE6 (every web developer's nightmare) or IE7?
What do you prefer about IE?
I have multiple browsers and it's my experience that there's nothing that IE7 does better than Firefox 3. Moreover, the very useful extensions and addons for Firefox 3 are lacking in IE. And, that's why I'd be interested to know why you prefer IE.

FireFox - But Google has it's own browser now as well. Haven't tried it yet.

You should definitely give Chrome a try , it is worth the try
  93. twoblogger
    I'm still loyal using firefox
  94. weemundo
Hmm FF for sure , IE 8 beta 2 did a good job and i am loving it but FF 3.1 stable version will definitely rock IE 8 beta 2 off it socks .

Chrome is still new please dont compare it :|

Firefox...IE still has problems on my webdesign here and there.
  96. Jeunelle
I love Firefox and tried to get rid of Internet Explorer entirely but somehow that is not possible as you still need it for some things.
Correct me if I'm wrong people but I do not think you can get rid of Internet Explorer entirely.
    1. Pashing
You can't uninstall IE. It's part of the Windows OS. It's also the only way to update your computer with MS patches.

    @pilotcommand
I do NOT believe there is "a battle" of browsers going on. lol Many of us bloggers use more than one browser and all web developers certainly do. IMO that is not bound to change, nor should it.

In this case, I simply looked at the w3schools.com statistics that apply to the whole internet (see below) and got the answers. Also I have sitemeter on my blog so the browser share breakdown specific to my blog is already available to me.

    www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
    September 2008
    IE7 26.3%
    IE6 22.3%
    CHROME 3.1%
    FIREFOX 42.6%
    MOZILLA 0.5%
    SAFARI 2.7%
    OPERA 2.0%

I wondered what useful purpose a poll could provide. Is it possible that the reason you are activating these 3 threads and dropping your links to your forum and poll into them is to shamelessly promote your forum? If so, then is this the correct approach to take? After all, you could simply post one Shameless Blog Promotion thread and promote your new forum in it.
    1. Chrislag
Any report on who is using the IE 8 Beta?
    2. pilotcommand
hi timethief.. just keeping the topic alive for other bloggers to comment and see their reactions... see those comments coming in? lol.. everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and i share there viewpoints also. everyone is thinking differently and this discussion is merely its intention , am i right? =)

i didnt know there's actually in w3schools...thx for sharing that info... =)

if there's already the w3schools then that only means that the poll i found in the forum only complements what is already existing and is available to everyone who are openly wanted to participate, small blogger or big time bloggers. hey, look... im not the one who posted the survey... just helping out one Techronnati member there.. i just thought sharing it also here with an open heart and mind just like everybody else here linking several websites related to post i.e. google references, other forums, wikipedia, microsoft etc.. besides it's a related post to the topic... i mean no harm to you and to everybody else here. just an idea coming from a techronnati member.

yep i just did what you mentioned promoting the forum in shameless blog promotion and that's my blog ....
  100. shesheface
i like firefox although my only complaint is everytime i exit out of it, i get a stupid report that says "firefox has crashed." i don't know why.

I have both Firefox and Internet explorer, can't see what the difference is to be honest. They display things differently which is annoying when you are trying to design a website lol Although that does help make sure people using either can read the site..

Im currently using Mozilla firefox, since i'm using their addons for my work and of course to check that pagerank of my sites and blogs. its all good, but i havent upgraded to firefox v.3 since most or all of the addons are not compatible yet with the new version of the browser.
  113. farangrakthai
On one screen firefox and on the other IE. Some pages look better or work better with one, and some with the other. So I use both.
  114. absynthe
Firefox all the way. It has much better debugging options. And for anyone who boasts a bit of coding experience, it's much better.

Firefox - I can't stand IE. Even IE7, the 'would-be' Firefox copy. It just doesn't stack up.
  121. geminidreamz
Firefox most always. IE if I must (punching in on our work Kronos server doesn't like FF). Chrome is nice for browsing since it's so simple and fast.
  122. bradhart
If you have sufficient ram, only use one program at a time, and don't do anything other than just surf the web either program is fine. Here are the facts though. IE eats ram like nobodies business so if you keep a few programs open or you do more than simple surfing you are better off with Firefox. If you want to customize your surfing experience, you can't do that with IE, but it is easy with 1000's of addons for firefox. If you design anything online you have to use both along with a host of other browsers simply because a page is going to look different with other browsers. FF is the most compliant with web standards and IE is the least.

    Firefox

Why because IE is so slow and from what I've read full of safety issues. Plus with FF you can add a whole bunch of cool extensions that I find handy everyday. I like the spell check and word count when writing as well.

I still have IE on my computer though because there are some web pages that only work with IE so I use it occasionally.
  130. svara
Papshmir I have Opera too and use it occasionally. I'm just so used to Firefox that it's my preferred browser! I meant to add Opera as a good optional browser as well.
  131. Momstart

Firefox for sure. Internet Exploder does a terrible job of rendering pages, and its security has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese.
