Iphone 3G just for $99

Yesterday visited apple's website, I saw an amazing thing that the latest price Iphone 3G is just $99. How come it be so cheap? If its cheap will it have the same quality?
Recently I bought Nokia 5310 for some $140. Now, I think I overpaid for it.
