   yeah. i bought mine last year for $399. worth it even at that price. It's a steal at 199. And new upgraded software with 3G. I feel sorry for nokia, motorola, samsung, and lg. Seems like there will only be two options. Either get a free phone, or buy an iphone.

   I think AT&T is not going to add the new 2-year plan to existing iPhone users plans. If you have 6 months left on your orig iPhone, AT&T just starts you off fresh with the new iPhone 2-year contract so you wouldn't be paying 2 years and 6 months, just the 2 years.

   The reduced price doesn't change anything. ATT still charges ridiculous data transfer fees. That's the weak link in the whole iPhone concept.

      true, we all hate on att, but it was mighty smart of them to hook up with iphone. the iphone is the best phone out in the market. and now it's priced so that more people will buy it. other carriers and phone makers better step up or they will lose customers

      I only use my phone as a phone, because of the outrageous price structure in the US. Since when, for instance, should texting be luxury that costs more than a phone call? Text messages contain less data than a voice stream. So the iPhone is just not gonna happen for me, even if Jobs makes it $2.00.

   I don't own any. The thing I hate is a new model is out all the time. It was like when I bought video game systems. Everytime they said how great it was then a new video game system came out a few years later!

   Bought mine a couple months ago. I tried to wait a year knowing that the 2nd generation would probably be coming soon, but I just couldn't wait!
   
   I couldn't be happier really. The iPhone does everything I want it to, even though I didn't know I wanted it to before I bought it;)

    I bought the iPhone when it was released a year ago - and even though ti cost too much, it was worth every cent. I had never used a cell phone that I liked before. The iPhone is a totally new experience.
    
    What I'm wondering is, now that AT&T is (obviously) subsidizing the cost of the iPhone, will they honor it for earned phone upgrades? I don't see a reason to update from my iPhone "1.0" because it's awesome as is (better with the 2.0 software when its out) ... but if I could get it free that would be a different story.
