Is this forum your game plan for getting more readers? There are so many ways to increase your hits, I read so many posts here about How do I get more And How Can i get more traffic there are tons of seo forums, and forums meant to teach you how to grow your readerships, Im afraid this isnt one of em, Im all for an ocasional random thought on religion or what ever else gets talked about here, but there are so many things I can do to gain more traffic and make more money. Ask your self are you happy with what you make and how many visits your site got today, if you are great job, if your not, then go do something about it. Jill

Is this forum your game plan for getting more readers?
Yes, I am here for the purpose of securing targeted readers to my blogs, but it's not my only source of readers.
- BC does not aim to deliver traffic (high bounce rate) to meber's blogs. BC aims to deliver readers (targeted traffic) to readers blogs and does achieve that.
How well individual members do when it comes to increasing that flow of targeted readers to their blogs is dependent upon how much they choose to learn and to apply. All the basic information they need is provided. The searchbox is full of excellent resources and the BC New Users group also has resource posts. www.blogcatalog.com/group/new-blog-catalog-users/discuss However, many members simply choose to think that dropping blog links into forum thread qualifies as promotion.
Not so! Promotion is an action word.
Promoting one's own blog involves actually learning how to create an effective profile, blog description and tags, as well as, formulating an effective OP in Shameless Blog Promotion thread(s).
The Shameless Blog Promotion category is for posting a thread aimed at promoting your own blog, and ought to contain enough information in the OP to "hook" members reading it into wanting to:
* visit your blog and read your posts;
* leave comments on your posts;
* subscribe to your blog;
* and mark it as a BC favorite.
Using this category has the added advantage of your blog promotion not getting lost in a long thread about other blogs, or in a long thread of general discussion about anything under the sun, except your blog.
Mastering the use of this category for blog promotion is probably one of the two most effective things a member can do to promote their own blog on the BC forum.
It requires including information that answers these questions:
(1) What do you blog about?
Include a blog description of about 25 words or so. This is important because all bloggers benefit from linking their blogs to related blogs.
(2) What is your brand?
What makes your blog unique from all the other blogs in your blogging niche?
(3) WIIFM? (What's in it for me?)
Why should another BC member visit your blog, read your posts, leave comments, subscribe to it, and mark it as a BC favorite?
Aside from the foregoing it's important to recognize that the BC community is a diverse mix. There are guests and there members here who rarely blog but who post to the forum frequently about everything under the sun except blogging. That's because this forum is a "social" forum and some members are primarily here to socialize. In fact, it's those "social" report button pushers who have decried my attempts to share blogging information on the forum. They protest that threads on blogging are boring and are ruining their "fun". -
Well Put!!! It' just makes me laugh when people think visiting a blog will drive any kind of traffic to there site that will last for more than a nano second, Long tail keywords and research get traffic, not hey I visited your blog will ya visit mine? I like the random conversations, but some of it's redundent, and who cares if tatoos are still in, or whats your fave movie, this site could be som much more if it carved out a niche and stuck with it. The design and function could really help some bloggers out with the instant answers but like you said it's a social forum and not a forum about blogging for money or traffic.And Oh Yea, Tatoos have never been hotter!!
