For me it's a great way to express myself when no one will listen but it feels like taking to someone. Great way to get the stress off. What triggers your writing?

Definitely! It helps me to relax....when too many thoughts build up in my mind, I write a blog and then the thoughts subside...So yes, it's a great way to express and get the stress off as well.

I end up being a listener so much of the time-- work, with family, etc. So getting to have a space to share whatever's on my mind-- uninterrupted-- is wonderful.

I try to always keep in mind the reader, and write for them, as well. But they've been really terrific about "e-listening" and sharing, too. So, I love it.

    It's worth all the effort.

When there are things that you just cant talk to someone about. But I dont mean blogging about personal stuff.

it really is therapeutic although some days I feel like what's the point and I can't be bothered to do this.

Absolutely therapeutic/cathartic. I guess I'm getting older, but I've never been as into politics as I am this year, and my blog has really allowed me to give vent to my frustration over the issues, the candidates, and the whole election process.

By all means (shameless plug), check it out: pratimazan.blogspot.com

Very much so. It helps me get through my day to day work life. I'm really disappointed that I went through college only to live in a cubicle.

Without a doubt. It's nice to have a bit of yourself written down somewhere. I keep two blogs- one private and one public. Sometimes it's good to write down your feelings, but others- even better to keep them to yourself.

It's a habit like a cigarette would be to those addicted.I spend hours studying, in libraries, and in class. When I am at home in front of the computer doing work, or doing research at the library, it is a few seconds away a mere click to get some stress relief at a blog, mine or others.

Blogging is more a form of procrastination than therapy for me.

Oh yes, it takes my mind away from Iraq for awhile, when i was back in the States it helped me to relax and remember experiences and learn from things! A time of reflection!

That's pretty much the starting point of my blog, as it grew out of therapeutic personal writing. Then, in practice, my experience may as often as not be as close to freeatlast's....

Yeah for me it definitely is! It started out as a way to bring in income but, turn out to be a channel to express my thoughts.

    Very much so.

I began blogging when I really had no other outlet during some of the hardest periods of my life.

i agree ! its very therapeutic.i mean you can write what your feeling.. and you'll get excellent feed back.. because this is from people who you dont directly know.. and who aren't afraid to hurt your feeling but just to tell you how it is.. i love it..

Agreeable. I also feel touched when people post honest comment on my blog.

Absolutely therapeutic! When I started my blog I thought, "What could I possibly write about?"...now I can't stop. Society, parenting, business - the good and the bad - it all comes out. Not only do I feel great after writing some of these posts but I hope that sometimes they can make a difference.

Blogging is very therapeutic for me. I don't really care if anyone reads it half the time; maybe at some point a steady readership will be important, but not yet. I have some regular readers that humor me, and that's good enough for now (at least until after the elections!)!

I process most things by writing about them ... blogging is a great outlet for me.

Writing, especially poetry, is very therapeutic for me. I have been writing poetry for over 10 years now, and I find it a great release for my fears and emotions.
