Is Bugs Bunny a rabbit or a bunny?

I´m confused. For me Bugs Bunny looks and acts like a rabbit, but his name is Bugs Bunny. So is he now a rabbit or a bunny? Please help me, I cant sleep until I know.

Let's see, all rabbits are bunnies, but bunnies and rabbits are not hares... And are any hares bunnies?

I had a look at wikipedia;
"A wabbit is a type of self-replicating computer program. Unlike viruses, wabbits do not infect host programs...."
So I dont think Bugs is a wabbit!

As defined by Google. I hope this helps. Bugs Bunny is a rabbit or Hare (larger than a normal rabbit)

•any of various burrowing animals of the family Leporidae having long ears and short tails; some domesticated and raised for pets or food
Bunny
•a young waitress in a nightclub whose costume includes the tail and ears of a rabbit
Hare
•swift timid long-eared mammal larger than a rabbit having a divided upper lip and long hind legs; young born furred and with open eyes -
