what is your opinion on chivalry?
was the world a better place when it was the norm?

If chivalry is dead, its because women killed it lol

I opened the door for this old bat at our office building today. But I only did it because I heard her muttering under her breath last week about anti-gentlemen.

In crowded buses and trains I still see men offering seats to women, especially preggy women and old women.

I think you saw that on a TV commercial, Onchong. Not reality.

      @ DBR

The chivalry custom hasn't died out completely in the Philippines.

Depends... is the girl hot? Because I am very chivalrous to hot women

You changed your name, threw me off for a second
    1. ArsenicCookies
lol well I don't know if I'm hot, but I do tend to see chivalry

yeah I was trying to throw people off

I don't think chivalry is dead at all. I think graceful people treat others gracefully. I teach my sons to open doors for women and older people, or people who are carrying something heavy. My husband does the same. So do I.

Maybe I don't consider it chivalry, necessarily... just treating people with respect and politeness.

chivalry will always be alive and well as long as we raise our children to be respectful and kind to others.

but if you're screaming about how men and women are equal and then you turn around and have a hissy because your door wasn't held for you, then what exactly were you screaming about? I never understood that.

but I raised my sons to hold the door for others anyway

Chivalry is on its way out because of those stupid feminists who keep bitching and whining about equality.

    3. dbowles1017

    4. crpitt
      Nope, I wouldn't know how.
    5. dbowles1017
So your saying you want a man to work AND do wifey things?
    6. dbowles1017
I don't know what your asking then lol
    7. crpitt
I said I longed for a man to cook 'for' and do wifely things (for them).
    8. dbowles1017
Doh, I totally read that wrong haha
    9. crpitt

Not in the Philippines. But I see young people losing their 'manners' already. I do give seats to old or pregnant women.
  9. rcrane52
chivalry may be dead, but decent, common sense manners are not.
    1. celticmusicfan
      rcrane52 well said!
