It seems to me that BC is very US orientated...
Am I the only non US blogger on here? Where are all my fellow UK bloggers?

There are quite a few UK bloggers. It's possible that many of them just aren't on right now-- it's, what, about supper time there now?

yes you are the only one , you better make it good and be better performance than your cricket, rugby, rugby union, football and ping pong teams

Don't believe the lies. We allow only on non-USian in the forum at any given time. That's why crpitt and ag can never have a conversation in real time.

@ Wavecrest-The Canadians are an elusive bunch.
@Salomey & JoelKlebanoff - Hope you're not from Montreal or Toronto as there was a thread on that late August.-
I'm from Montreal...
Why? Is there something wrong with Montreal?
As opposed to Toronto, of course. We all know EVERYTHING is wrong with Toronto!
Disclaimer: As a Montrealer, it is my duty to crap on Toronto every chance I get. And these chances are few and far between.
Out of curiosity, what did the Montreal/Toronto thread say?

@ Salomey5 - I had a book signing in TO in September and my new blog describes it and also met Gwedolyne there and Montreal would have been on the agenda, but no one from Montreal replied. Have you been away?
-
Only away from BC. I'm a bit of a drifter when it comes to internet communities. Plus I got hooked on Twitter, and I only have enough time to be addicted one community or network at once!
Shame you couldn't make it Montreal, it really is a great city, with lots of things to do.
What did you think of Toronto? It's been a while since I last went, but I have to admit I thought it was *cough*anicecity*cough*.

@salomey - I did live there for 4 years but was homesick for Ottawa and returned. Montreal, annee prochain, J'ai pense!

I am from Tennessee and that is barley part of the US, I am in my own little redneck world with out any different ethnic people and no culture Does that count as not part of the US?

Is it over?
Now I shall hum, "My country tis of thee ..."
Wait, that has the same tune the Brit's use for their queen.
"My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean" -- I hum that when I have a loss of words and I am searching for some to come. But I won't hum that now. It sounds too much like "Waltzing Matilda" to me.
"Oh Canada" -- that's a beer song, right? I hear it at hockey games, when we play one of those teams from North of the border. Is it "O Canada?" or Oh, Canada?"
There's a dude from British Columbia. He works in town, likes hockey too. I don't drink beer. Others I sit with do. Often they shout his way, "Oh, Canada, pass the beer."
You know I'm kidding right? Americans, we like to boast of how great our country is. That shouldn't belittle anybody else's country, because the American people came from all places.
India is a place with good people. That is where that great American civil right's leader Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi came from. I don't know if there is anyone here from China. China is good too. What would American action movies be without Jet Li, Jackie Chan and John Woo? These are three excellent American movie makers.
I could go on. But you get the point. -

Oh, oops! "civil right's" I see you caught that. It is difficult to write on screens. Typos will occur occasionally.
Also. My approach to issues is comedy/satire and parody , and fun. Sometimes the surface isn't as important as what lies underneath. -
@dfunzy - you've got a comedy blog, made me LOL Find offendedblogger, who is looking for those with comedy blogs for her project.

Brother crazyTsu
If I had the gift to enlighten, then I would be a wizard. I put forth my thoughts in the form of humor. They will either lay or fall on their own.
Understand this: I know Gandhi never came to the USA, only his ideas, and those ideas have made him an "American" hero. I know Jackie Chan does not like any of the American movies he has made (How do I know this? He wrote the statement on his web site) --- but he has made American movies and they are an important part of the American action cinema. I know that America culture is the sum of many parts.
What makes America strong is that it opens its doors.
I attempted to use satire to make this point. What makes this a strong resource site is that there are people here from all over the world putting in their two cents worth, sharing their experiences and giving their advice.
Darn. I'm getting preachy and away from humor. Pardon me. -
Hello Glen;
I can assure you that BC has a vast number of bloggers from around the world. As a matter of fact my latest blog post at "Pageturners Or Doorstops?" is about a lady in Pakistan who writes a fascinating blog listed here at Blog Catalog, called SHINING HISTORY: Islamic Medieval Civilization. And the wealth of comments above certainly indicate that you woke up a number of blog writers from different parts of the UK and it's Commonwealth. Not to mention a couple of really mouthy Americans. -
-
Wavecrest, you might be interested in the group called Bloggers that are NOT from the USA: www.blogcatalog.com/group/bloggers-that-are-not-from-usa
The person who created this group wrote: "This group is for all bloggers that are not living in USA. Americans that live abroad are welcome. The purpose of this group is to collect up possible contributors for a Non-American blog, both frequent and quest posters. The blog hasn't been created yet, but should there be interest, this is the place I will look for contributors from. Please invite people you know that fit.
The blog is not going to be a travel blog, nor will it be a "hate americans" blog. What I have in mind is to give space for the rest of the world as Americans are pretty much everywhere." -
-
I'm an American citizen, by the way, living in central Minnesota. There are individuals on BC who are rather tightly focused on their own area or subculture - wherever that is.
For a while, for example, I was learning quite a bit about the Philippines.
Then there was the time a fellow had some rather interesting discussion threads going about football (soccer, to Americans) in the UK.
Here's a thought: start a discussion thread about something that's very UK-oriented, and see what happens. (No guarantees made or implied - I've learned that what interests me doesn't always interest others: you might, too.) -
