Topics: God
Before you all start jumping on me, the title of the post had a nice ring to it.
I could have used is God a dominatrix, or is he a she or is he or a serial killer.
The point of this post is that I find so many threads and posts in blogs with God as it's topic.

Well, in my humble opinion, God is not a human and therefore God can't have sex and therefore God is not gay, nor is God a heterosexual and I'm pretty sure God is not a serial killer, but since this whole God thing is pretty much an abstract concept and can't be proved or disproved, I guess you will never know. I think what you are really asking is, are gay people approved by God? Is God compassionate enough to accept gay people? Is being gay a sin? Is being gay a choice? Is being gay something programmed at birth? Is God a man or woman or neither? What does God eat for breakfast and does he use low fat milk on his Fruit Loops? Does God wear boxers or briefs? There are so many unanswered questions about God, you know?
Peace,
George

It has nothing to do with gay people at all, it has to do with every aspect of human nature. As I said, that phrase for a title rolled of the keyboard with a simple and direct approach to the topic.
Is God a carpenter? Is he a bipolar child in therapy?
I know that the God that would accept repents from a guy like Al Capone, should have no problem with a person being gay, or why hire so many.
Please, I have many gay friends here in New York, as I do blacks, Jews, killers, etc. I am an Italian, Irish half breed from the 50's. I grew up not seeing what people look like or where they come from or what they do in their bedroom, each and every person gets my opinion on how they carry themselves. If someone is a piece of crap, then they are no matter what they do or where they come from. -
Read your article, and I am not quite happy of the F-word written here and there on your blog -- I know its always an off-puting reading for most people. I suggest you change your style of writing to have no rampant swearing and innapropriate course languages, if you want returning visitors on your blog. You know what they say, "first impression lasts" so its wiser to be careful in projecting an image.
My critism of your writing of the article is that it is clear that you havent done any good research on the topic --therefore there isnt much learning pleasure that can be enjoyed. If you continue this way, then dont expect a lot of readers returning to your blog.
As for God being gay, dont know if you were saying that He's homosexual but He can't be a homo. Why? Because of the following:
1. He has no sexual organ. He doesnt need one to produce or procreate life.
2. Homosexual is defined as "an individual who has a sexual desire for the same gender". As He has no sexual organ, there is no need for Him to be sexual as well.
Additional comments:
1. We are created "according" to His own image and likeness ---but does that mean physically? -No.
2. The "apple" in the Adam and Eve story is just a "symbolism". It maybe symbolizing the act of "pre-marital sex".
3. Of all His creations, we humans are the only one's He blessed to have free will. The apple is there to satistfy the condition of "choices". He put it there so we can practice our own choice. There are basically 2 choices: To be with Him in a perfect realm Or Choose to go against Him and live in a non-perfect realm.
4. He is a Creator and therefore has the right to be acknowledge by His creation.
5. In theology, God is perfect --therefore anything going far from him becomes lesser and lesser perfect.
6. Yes, I believe we are living in a test. What is the point of having been born to be alive and just die later on? Its only a test. When God created us, we are meant to live forever.
7. The consequence of the original sin is death, that's why our body had becomed mortal, a mortal body that die.
8. The reward of Salvation is eternal life. A life that you dont have to eat, drink, suffer, mourn nor be tempted of any sin. It is to live in purity and True Happiness and contempt.
9. God is Just, and He is the only one who really knows what are the consequences of our actions. Though you may have asked forgiveness in the end after an unspeakable sins, He will still implement what is Just. We dont know how just He is --that's what I am saying.
10. There is no sense of time with God. So a thousand years could only mean a blink of an eye for Him. So if you reached the age of 100 and thinks that you have lived forever --think again.
11. Imagine a life of pure happiness, wouldn't you want to live forever?
12. Who taught us feelings? Who taught us the knowledge of reason? --From no one? --I dont think so. -
If you are talking about a monotheistic God, then the answer is "no" for the reason given above-- gender and sexual orientation are limitations that cannot be placed on an infinite being. Of course, this would also tell us that God can't be a homophobe either.
If you are talking about a pantheistic God (i.e. "God is in everything!") then you could argue that the aspect of God inside a gay person is gay just like the aspect that is in my cat is feline. However, this tells us absolutely nothing.
If you want to talk about individual Gods in a pantheon, then you have some luck. Zeus, while best known as a womanizer, also had a male lover named Ganymede. Zeus then, by our modern standards, was bisexual and Ganymede, who was born a mortal yet became a god, was clearly in a homoerotic relationship.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganymede
THere are probably other examples of homoerotic dieties in the world's mythologies as well. -

About God addressed as "He". Though addressed as "he" in english and other language, it doesnt mean "He's a male".
In english language, its usually a practice to address a character as "he,him and his" to represent an ambigous person.
Mind you in tagalog language they dont have separate addressing between male and female, so instead of using "he" or "she" they use "siya" --representing a person without discriminating gender.
No one told me God is a "He", its just the way the language is being used. -
Actually, when it comes to God, even a monotheistic religion's God, "they" seems to make more sense as a pronoun than "he". It's plural (which works fine for Christianity; they have the trinity) which means it's less limiting than "he". Plus, you get rid of the whole misleading gendered pronoun thing there.

*sigh*
Dear God,
hope you got the letter, and...
I pray you can make it better down here.
I don't mean a big reduction in the price of beer
but all the people that you made in your image, see
them starving on their feet 'cause they don't get
enough to eat from God ...
...
Dear God, don't know if you noticed, but... your name is on
a lot of quotes in this book, and us crazy humans wrote it, you
should take a look, and all the people that you made in your
image still believing that junk is true. Well I know it ain't, and
so do you ...

You keep looking at this is about God, it's about how mankind uses the concept of God, how we, myself included look for loop holes for our short comings, has nothing to do with gay or any other group
It's like me saying is God Muslim or Jewish.
We all create a concept about what God is and what he stands for our own satisfaction, to create the rules as we want them to be.
Every religion on the planet does what it wants and yet they all use one word for it "God"
You are looking like this is an attack on God or Gays, it is about mankind and it's selfness, our morals and greed.
I love God, whoever God may be, but if we are a part of him, then surely he is a part of us.
I normally do not research my personal opinions, btw-
Actually I disagree. I think that un-researched personal opinion is a wonderfully useful sociological tool. What the original poster has done - while religiously different from scholarly opinion - is post a regularly occurring opinion among people both in, and outside of the religion. While the frustration with the ideals is evident in the post, the content provides us a valuable clue as to why religion in general is susceptible to perversion, half-truths, and manipulation.
For the record, the post has nothing to do with sexuality whatsoever. The title was for attention only. Except the fact that all of the "homophobia" that religion fosters (*cough*West Borough Baptist Church*sputter*) could be a valid point, if we are manifestations of God (made in his image), and humans are homosexual....or the fact that homosexuality exists at all - raises the question about whether or not God may have at the very least, bisexual tendencies

Ender thanks, but
Not a problem, I knew this would rub some people the wrong way. It's just the self protection instinct that we all have in us.
Here I am stating an opinion, and people are responding like they hang out with God at the pub or something. They all know a lot about him on a personal level. Or was that research from sources that know him?
I think ChessMagic, is more pissed off because I used a dirty word.
I am sorry if your were offended by street style in writing.
My take is if God created all there is I am sure he has the ability to mingle.
On Zeus, I sort of like that whole concept, always have, but he was a child of Gods, Cronus and Rhea were they the first or did God create them?
Dionysius, has to be one of may favs though, maybe because he was a half breed.-
ROzie818 said: "My take is if God created all there is I am sure he has the ability to mingle."
These are some of the thelogicians explanation:
1. He is a perfect being; the most beautiful image of everything. With His perfect beauty His "real" presence alone is so overwhelming that a mortal body would not be able to withstand. This might not be comprehensible or sensible but what do you feel when you see for the very first time a very beautiful woman of your inspiration -pure and very ladylike is standing just beside you? (Im assuming your male). --You feel overwhelmed, nervous, and unsettled. This experience is similar only to a fraction of the experience that a mortal will experience in the presence of such pure Holiness. When Moses talked to God through a burning bush he has aged a lot. Imagine, that's just a burning bush and not really seeing God Himself.
2. According to theology, seeing His image alone is a reward itself when you have gained salvation. Imagine, the worthiness to see your own Creator is such an unparallel satisfaction.
3. Also in theology, a pure spirit is only worhty to see Him. "spirit" -- denoting no mortal body, as it will just be overwhlemed and destroyed.
4. He is mingling with us, even now, through the Holy Spirit. You wont hear literal voices but He communicates through your conscience and convictions.
5. There is a Grand Plan and you might want to research it, even for curious interest. You'll never know, everything might make sense afterwards. -
The standard story in Greek mythology is that Cronos and Rhea were children of Uranus (the original sky god) and Gaia, the earth goddess. So basically, Cronos castrated his father at his mother's urging (The first matings created the Titans, the latter matings created only monsters) and then married his sister-- which is sort of what his own kids did as well-- but that's how Greek mythology works.

God is not gay, but your communication skills are!
You are full of facts, how can you claim that he is not, and how can you claim my communications skill are less than yours or straight or gay or inbreed?
So what you are saying is we use our own interpretations of what Gods rules are, to justify whatever actions we want to take such as killing in the name of God?
err, Yes
practicality every action mankind takes is justified by our belief in our God.
That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. What a waste of time!
What is? I am confused here, the thread or the fact that man need a crutch?
God is not a guy, but God still in the behind of all gays
God stands behind all of his creations
ender thanks anyway :-) -
My opinion doesn't mean anything but the best way to handle posts that are meant to be offensive are to not give it the time or day unless you as a reader want to speak to the poster to encourage them to know God.
Roz, If you asked Jesus into your heart, confessed your sins, asked Him to come in and take over your life for you, Jesus will come in through the Holy Spirit and do just that, you would not only receive peace in this life but peace with God in heaven.
Not only that but you would be saved from this old sinful nature that is against everything that God is but you would have new life, life through the Holy Spirit that would totally change you from the inside out to where you would not want or need to say things to people just to get a rise out of them.
My husband used to love to say things to people to get them riled up and upset and loved seeing their reactions when people wanted to kill him but then one day he got tired of the emptiness and the rabble raising was always temporary and short lived and wanted to know that there was more to life than this and then he asked Jesus into his heart.
Immediately that same day he asked Jesus into his heart he was changed not just on the outside but on the inside and served God from that day forward with a passion like never before. He turned all that energy he used to get people riled up to now get people riled up for Jesus because he realized that Jesus loved him with a love that this world could not give or offer and never will.
He's now a pastor and loves the Lord with that same passion and fervor he did 20 years ago. Please think about what I said and some day I pray that you will know Jesus as we do. -
My opinion doesn't mean anything
Of course it does, you have every right to comment as you wish.
And believe me there is no offense intended.
Don't know how close any you have been to death, I have, legally.
And that is close as you will come without getting a eternal pass
I find the question more stupid than offensive.
It's not really a question, how could anyone ever answer for God?
You can't I can no one can that is the whole point, so many people go around talking for him, you have no right to speak for him, without his say so. But many people think they above him by taking his place, by sharing his word, has he ever spoken to you, do you know what his words are? No you don't, no one does. Those words you talk are written by man.
I could write an outline of religious beliefs and 10,000 years from now some idiots will take it as word.
I don't speak for God, he is in my heart as only a belief, not as a fact. -
The scriptures say "let us make man in our image, and after our likeness", therefore Adam the 1st man, was created.
God the Father, is also called "Everlasting Father, Father of Lights, a Father to the fatherless" and is refered to as "Our Father which is in heaven".
Christ being the Son of God, was born fully man. The spotless lamb of God who died on the cross at Calvary, who shed His blood, for the sins of the world.
Christ refered also to the promises of the Father being the Holy Spirit saying "I will send another, and He will teach you all things".
Marriage was created, ordained and instituded by God to be between a man and a woman. Therefore, God being the creator of all things, including mankind, is not gay, nor female.
Further, according to the scripture, God is a spirit, and God breathed the breath of life, being His spirit into Adam, and Adam became a living soul, being.
God, is, that He is, the Great IAM that IAM. His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours, for He is the Lord God, the Creator of all things.
To try and speak for God, or about God without applying scripture is like spitting against the wind. It is foolishness. God made it possible for ALL of mankind to know Him. He left us His Word, and Words, being the scriptures, which are also spirit breathed, by the Will of God.
One of His promises is "seek and you will find". It is a prophetic promise. If you see, you will find. If you don't, you wont.
Another one of His prophetic promises, is "my sheep heareth my voice". Yet to understand that one must start out as a lamb, and grow in the grace of God.
Blessings, in Christ, who was, and is, and is to come... -
I sure am getting a healthy lesson in religion, or of one type at least.
All of these books have a lot to share I know this, my fav line is
I have pursued mine enemies, and over taken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.
psalms/18
humorvice
That is a perfect example of what it is all about -
It's always Me, Me, Me. That is just human nature. -
I thank God for His love, His mercy, His grace, and that through Christ, through His blood, through His death, burial and ressurection, we have the forgiveness of sins, and the promise of eternal life through repentence, trust and faith in Jesus.
Things change when Christ is our Lord. Our life changes, the way we see things changes, and as we grow in the knowledge of Him.
The Holy Spirit comes and teaches us the things of God, His ways, His plans and His purposes. We find encouragement, hope, freedom, and victory.
