I am worried about h1n1 because I have two young children. Apparently, h1n1 vaccine isn't available in my area (NC) yet. Have any of you gotten the vaccine or know if it is available in your area?

Yes it is, unfortunately - and no, I have no intention of letting big pharma make money by experimenting on me.

I'm an MD and a professor of family medicine in our university. Privately many of us will admit it's a joke and a scam.

H1N1 does not exist in our place...the virus needs doctor in order for them to survive! No virus and it does not need vaccine for it.

I have no idea if it's is or isn't available in my area. If it was I would not be getting the vaccine, nor would I have my children vaccinated.

We are practicing good basic hygiene, washing our hands regularly and staying home when we don't feel 100%! We are also staying away from people that could be sick. For us this is something that we have always done.

You may want to do a little research about flu vaccines first. It is available in my area (Houston) because there is currently a break out of H1N1. However, there have been recent reports that the flu shot can trigger permanant nerve damage. One woman now suffers debilitating muscle spasms that prevent her from walking forward without convulsing, and speaking clearly.

I am personnaly staying away from that vaccine like the plague. At least I convinced my parents not to take it, although they continue to take the regular flu vaccine. Argggh.

I got the shot on October 28 in Vancouver, Canada, with no difficulty. That was the first day the vaccine was available in my city, and I chose a clinic at a community centre in a quiet neighbourhood. It was before the hysteria started, and it was well-organised and busy but not hectic.
