Is is right for me to take up arms?
I am living under a law called AFSPA(since 1958) that give power to the armed forces (wide powers) to shoot, arrest and search. All in the name of aiding civil power.

All security forces are given unrestricted and unaccounted power to carry out their operations.
The enforcement of the AFSPA has resulted in innumerable incidents of arbitrary detention, torture, rape, and looting by security personnel.

I would always seek non-violent measures first.
BTW, in the third paragraph in your post it says "sixty-one years later". It should be "fifty-one".-

The UN has spoke against it very lately.
Here is a story of a woman who entered the 10th year of her hunger strike demanding the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).

But what is the use of living when I can be killed anytime they like.
They can search, tourture and rape anyone in the family.
I am not taking up arms, I am a web designer. But there are 10000s already. We are in ceasefire period and we are living to the full out of it. Never knew when this will break. If it happen, every night we have to live fearing the sound of their boots
