there are too many social networks and I find it hard to participate to all of them. Is it good to stick to one social networks and build good community relations instead of 8 where you cannot manage the time to focus?

That depends on your ultimate goal.
If your just looking to share some fun information with a network, then maybe one will do the trick. If your looking to gain page one search results and stay there, get alot of traffic to sell something, I think it's best to find or make the time to get busy with more than one network. -
I also think it has a lot to do with the fit of your personality. Here's an example: when Twitter first came onto the scene, I set-up a profile and tried getting started, but I just did NOT understand it...or even see why it could be valuable. About six months later I re-introduced myself to the application, and now I'm all but addicted to it!
But the application really seems to fit my particular personality, not only on a blogger level but also on a personal level. -
I've heard it said that participation in about 5-7 social networks is just right. Less than 5 being too few to be effective, more than 7 getting out of control.
Is this about right? -
I just found a new social site this morning. It is nice in that you get a page that you set up the way you like it. It kind of reminds me of my space. I am trying it to see if it will give me a little more exposure. You can try it here if you want. socialu.ning.com/. Give me a shout out when you get there.

I've got a MySpace account but only use it to comment and show support for artists and people I like.
I'm thinking of joining buzznet.com It looks fun. -
I'm a stumble addict. You should definitely give it a try.
