It is ok if you cry cissy. really it is.
I was raised where a man is strong and is the corner stone of your house hold. If the corner stone of a building is week, then the building could fall. Have I cried. I didn't feel bad for it either. I just think that there is a time and place for it. You family leans on you for support, so do much emotion, this way they will always feel they can lean on you during their hard times. -
i think men need to cry! just as much as us women do! it's a natural, human response to emotional stimuli. i never tell my son's to stop crying...i want them to always feel that, if they need to, no matter how old...go for it! unless, it's because they want something and they can't have it. that goes for grown men, too!

Hey i make men cry all the time, they pay me for it.
Okay so i am joking, i think a good cry is needed sometime and i like to see the male species show some emotion. I went to a friends wedding recently and when he (groom) saw her (bride) walking up the aisle he starting to tear up and that was such a special moment. -

It used to be that you just had to deal with hardships and suck it up. Now everyone is so emotional these days. Don't sit around crying about something get off your rear and change it. If the men of the 1700's were sissies then the US would not be of America it would be of Britain.

I cry, why should men not cry? Do we not have emotions? Or is it something that society has brought us up with, "Men dont cry"
Crying releases so much of the pain n frustraion, im sure a woman would like a man who cries than a man who screams his balls off and beats her up!
Men! Keep Crying! -

I think it's perfectly okay for men and women both to cry if there's a good reason. Or in private or with close friends even if there isn't a good reason.
People who cry very easily kind of bother me, though. Sometimes they're being manipulative, sometimes they just are the type of people who turn every little thing into a giant drama.
And I confess that I never know what to do when someone's crying. If the person is trying to hide it, I pretend not to notice. Otherwise, I tend to just stand there awkwardly and mutter "I'm sorry" and run away as soon as possible. But that's my failing, not theirs. -
I once such a crybaby which makes my ex-girlfriend dumped me. Then, I become a strong independent person that won't cry easily.
But I'm still crying over Japanese short series drama. -

Hell yes it is. The last time I cried was 19 weeks ago when my daughter was born. It was our first child and a very emotional time.

I don't mind a man who can cry... at the appropriate time. Men (and women too) who switch on the tears to get what they want, or to cause emotional drama will find me backing away from them.I'm gonna tell you a story... my Dad is 74 years old (I'm 37) and I've only ever seen him cry once. I was very ill at the time and had just had surgery. I was lying in bed with an oxygen mask on my face and tubes everywhere. My Mom had gone to the hospital cafe to get a coffee, with my partner. I beckoned my Dad to come closer and I asked him 'if anything happens to me, please take care of him' (meaning my partner). My Dad knew how bad things were and he filled up with tears and his tears spilled and his voice shook as he said 'sure, you know I will' and he kissed me on the forehead and I went back to sleep. I've never seen him cry since, but we both know I needed that promise and it still holds good today.

mmm... I don't. Sorry. By all means, then, cry. I was thinking about people who watch a football match and cry when the their favorite team lost.

It is ok for men to cry, but it would serve them well if they did it in private. No one really likes to see a man cry!

One does not cry if one is British. Stiff upper lip and all that. Our eyes may sweat from time to time but crying just isnt done.

I think it' speaks to how sadly repressed our society has become that it's somehow unacceptable for men to cry. There's never any good accomplished by withholding emotion.
Think of how many times Achilles wept in the Iliad. For most of the history of civilization this wasn't anything to be ashamed of any more than feeling any other strong emotion, and in fact was indicative of great passion. -
While I don't cry, I don't mock people who do.
Personally, I look down on crying-- and all emotion, for that matter. -
Okay, I have a story to tell.
When Forrest Gump first hit the screens, I went to see it with my boyfriend at that time. He cried at the end. It bothered me, really, because it seemed like a ridiculous time to do so.
He was more sensitive than me at the time.
Did any other male cry when they saw Forrest Gump? If so, maybe you can explain why. -

This is interesting! A recent study showed that it is publicly more acceptable for a man to cry than a woman:

Personally, it would never really occur to me to break down emotional display by gender. It's OK for a person to cry when a person feels like crying. -
Last I looked a man is a human being too, and crying is a natural human reaction. So of course it is OK for a guy to cry.
-
Tearducts are God-given. Make full use of them. It's absolutely alright, ok, human, for both man and woman to cry. It's good to release your emotions anyway.
-
Crying can sometimes be self cleansing. It washes away pride, which many times exists before a downfall. The whole world needs to cry or take an enema.
-
yes it is okay for a man/men to cry...., they are just showing weak side of their life.

I think it's abnormal for a man NOT to cry. They have emotions too and I think its ridiculous when they try to mask their emotions. It's not "tough" ...it's just lame in my opinion. Our first form of communication we know of in life is to cry...it's just a normal part of life to show emotion. Society is the only reason some may look at it as a sign of weakness.

I cried when my son was born. The expression "tears of joy" had never rung so true. Just seeing my little man did it. Heck just thinking of it can almost bring it on now.
Of course, on the other hand, I actually cried tears of joy when Curlin won the Preakness. I'm totally serious. Folks loved it though. People were celebrating with me as if he were my horse. -

Tears fall from my eyes when I use eye drops.. Is that called cry?
uh, thats the liquid of the medicine anyway, not my real tears though!

I'm a fairly emotional guy, and don't see anything wrong with a man crying. Experiencing the grand canyon for the first time made me very emotional.
Generally with me, fact rather than fiction does it, and the beauty of nature and the world sometimes.
I've found in life that people who don't know me, criticise me being emotional. People who do know me, often understand and admire me for the same thing. It's easy to be judgemental from a distance -
I believe I cried a bit when I first popped into this world. But the doctor slapped me, told me to pull my self together, and since then I have not shed a single tear.
Stiff upper lip, and all that. -
The answer is simple. You have tear ducts and crying washes your eyes off. So ... it is perfectly fine for you to wash your eyes.

crying is the result of sorrow. Man or women doesn't matter if there is an adversity there is an emotional outburst. Please read my blog "when your heart sinks" at www.thestrummingofsilence.blogspot.com

Depends on the man! I believe the only man who will object to another man crying is a man with a little too much arrogance & self esteem. Crying is a human emotion, it is not governed by gender. I never cried much prior to my 'coming out' but now I am much more expressive of my emotions. Men will try and hide emotions but they are in all of us. That don't make me a sissy!
