Is it really shameless promoting our own blogs?

Just thought I would throw the question out there, is it really that shameless promoting our own blogs? I mean. everybody wants their blog to be successful and surely any little extra attention towards the blog will help?

it is not shameless because everyone has something important to say and I truly believe that Blogging, be by written word, video, or radio, will replace and or dominate the mainstream media as we know it today.

  Unfortunately, everyone doesn't have something important to say--or rather, perhaps they do, but they don't always choose to share it. Far too many blogs are just rehashes, feeds, etc.

I think the term "shameless" was used a bit tongue-in-cheek when they created that category.

As long as a shameless thread is designed to create discussion as well as make folks aware of your blog topic, that's permitted here at BC.

  I agree with Thrift. Another category needed to be made to keep the promotions from diluting the general category and I think the name is just to be silly.

Its about right - we know when more info is at flowers to back up a point or a thread here it is shameless promotion - even though we're proud...

It's a great tag and we love using it!

If it's relevant to the context of discussion, it's not shameless. If the content contains valuable insight and isn't, as MadameX said, just a rehash, then it's not shameless.
