Only if you don't know how to disconnect. Turn off your cell phones (or get a secondary one for work), stop checking your work email, don't bring your work home with you, etc, etc, etc. That's what makes life hectic, we never disconnect.
  2. footiam
If you are working for a company, you can't turn off your handphone.
    1. footiam
It's not just about cell phone, I suppose
  3. bloggernoob
yup. cause we are never satisfied. we stop being satisfied by age 8

I know life is hectic at 20's to 40's, working hard, doing your job 24/7, 9-5 and all, but one day when we were finally have all we want (well) at least all we need, i'm sure we can do more than just relaxing and enjoying our life...

Just like one of my own quotes in my poetry...
Soon Success will only be our reverie...
  5. footiam
Life is all about working hard. It's hectic because we crave success.
  6. footiam
But really, what's wrong with a hectic life?
  7. jojoblue
I remember the Rush Limbaugh article saying about working hard and taxes.

    Live Love Life - Jojo
  8. footiam
If there is no taxes, perhaps, life wouldn't be such a rush!
  9. footiam
There is no life, so, it's not hectic!
  10. dotartdude
We've bullied ourselves into believing life should be so hectic.

What's wrong with making our lives hectic? We're in such a rush to get to the next moment we don't appreciate the current moment.

So the artistic folks have to say, "Hey, stop a moment. This is important."

Then there is the point when you reach a critical mass of activity and some things have to go. I've had a few of those at times.

There's also the point when you realize, hey, I'm not in my teens anymore - substitute 20s, 30s, etc. I have to recover from that schedule.

Worse is when you have ailments from pushing so hard. Some meds don't have generics, either.

I think life is way to hectic. I think, and please don't quote me on this I might be wrong, I read an article on how we are the most or the second most worked country on earth. My coworker works almost 60 hours a week and never takes vacation. We both are on salary.
    1. footiam
I think you are right in your own way. You live your life and you know!

Probably for most people, but not for me. Being non-materialistic, I only work part-time, which covers my low mortgage & monthly bills. There's not really anything leftover to buy things, but "things" are largely unsatisfying, anyway. My time is far more valuable & for the first time in a long time, I have much more of it than ever before. Lots of time for painting, bird watching, having a beer out on the deck. Life is good.
    1. Anok
      Aint it nice?
    2. LGramlich
@Anok; It's absolutely perfect. (Sorry, never saw this reply back then!)
  13. DrowseyMonkey
Not for me. I've downsized my life quite a bit ... no more stressful job, no more long commute. For me, it's been great. But some people thrive in being hectic, so it's whatever makes ya happy.
    1. footiam
      You have got a point!
  14. kat822
during the school year yes, once summer vacation comes it's kick back , forget the time of day, hell forget what day it is I love it
  15. morgantj
Is life hectic for all animals or just our species?
    1. DrowseyMonkey
my cats look pretty care-free at the moment. But I bet if they were out in the wild trying to survive they'd be mighty stressed
    2. morgantj
Compared to living in the house, yes it would certainly present its challenges. But if your cats had always lived in the wild, would it still be hectic or since they wouldn't know anything other then that type of life, just ordinary?
    3. DrowseyMonkey
I think it would be hectic ... always knowing you're not the top of the food chain ... yikes! Struggle to survive.
    4. footiam
Animals do not go to schools or offices. Guess it must be human who get stress.
    5. footiam
mm.mmm good questions. Animals don't have to go to schools or offices. Their lives shouldn't be hectic unless of course if they have to hunt for food..
  16. Tamela
Only if we choose to make it that way!
    1. footiam
Yes; you can always choose to watch the Olympic games or just work, work, work!
  17. DVS
Hey! We get to wind down and retire shortly before we expire..that's fair isn't it?
  18. jafabrit
It's as hectic as we choose it to be.
    1. footiam
      I suppose so!
  19. morgantj
Not if you take pleasure and comfort in the seemingly orchestrated causal chaos.
  20. calais50
I constantly rush around and I'm almost never at home, but I'm usually out meeting friends or doing fun stuff, so for me, it's a great thing.
  21. dlowe
Life is as hectic as you make it. I am involved in several ministries at my church, my son is in sports, I have yard work to do, friends to meet, arr ends to run plus a full time job. I still find time to read and relax. Its allabout priorities.
  22. accidentalsexiness
Yes it is! I want to travel the world not sit behind a desk!
  23. garnetfenghuang
Sometimes. But there are ways to calm it down and whatnot.

      You are lucky!
  25. tjefferson85
IT's all about what you can take! You should try to challenge yourself everyday!
    1. footiam
      Challenging oneself sounds hecic!
  26. EXZombie
No. We just make ourselves think it is.

We're spoiled if anything and any hard times we get, The majority of the time we put them on ourselves with excuses of why we can't get what we need. If work is your problem I recommend you read "The Four Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferriss. If you dont like to read then get the Audio Book version.

I've done some of the things this book says before I even read it and I gotta say it's a pretty spot on no BS guide to making yourself ask questions like this less and less. Reading this book this week really showed me that the path that I was on before really was the right path I was on seeing as I lived months making what I would make in a week or two in two days.

The funny thing is that this book has made me really reflect on things that arn't even new. It's shown me that to be free in life you really don't have to be a millionare because in alot of cases Millionares arn't living life. That point reminded me of a customer I used to have in my families old buisness. He would come in, Make $99-299 tips on a $1 product, Always bring gifts to my family and just random but kinda odd nice things like that.

I suspected that he was in the middle of a divorce because his words to me were always about how money is worthless to him, That he has paintings in his house worth thousands of dollars that he has never even hung up along with a load of other things that he has never opened.

Anyway, Read that book and figure it out for yourself.

Its time management. I think you can't handle too much until you can manage them. I wrote a post on twittergen.com on time management.

Ask me that question after I find a gasoline station that actually provides gasoline.
    1. EagleEyedJerry
You're right, with the increasing number of cars running on diesel gasoline stations are becoming scarcer, I believe that's the reason gasoline is so expensive.
  29. mrbastard

  30. lordiwanttobewhole
life isn't too hectic, we can make choices to control the level of 'hecticness' in our lives.

It is so very important to have time of rest and relaxation and play. Our health depends on it
  31. roentarre
    It is hectic as always.
  32. roentarre
    It is hectic as always.
  33. SpiritualBloggers
To be totally honest, most of the time it feels like nearly everything in my life needs to be scheduled, including relaxation!

It's easy to say "Oh, my life is so hectic" and get stressed out. Then I remember, I've created everything in my life. I've asked for all this stuff in my life. I'm the one who has chosen this. To me, its empowering to remember that.
    1. footiam
Start asking for something less hectic!
  34. neobluepanther
I sometimes feel that life is hectic, but then again I look at other people who manage to pack in so much in the same 24 hours. Then, I realise that if one can manage his/her time well then life is a breeze.
  35. amitchopra22
no life is with me and i am njoying it fully so it is also giving me new games to play with. njoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy your life.

to be or not to be ?.....
    1. EagleEyedJerry
      So deep... Very profound!
  37. lotusb
Depends on who you ask. Personally, I like to take time out to be irresponsible. Tend to my immediate needs: food, sleep and water for a little bit, even if it's half a day.

Then again...ask me again when I'm married with kids.
  38. Bayho

      That's great news!

If life wasn't hectic, we'd be complaining that it is boring. As long as it doesn't get so bad that I want to throw in the towel, I'm all for it.
    1. footiam
      People always complain!
