I only bought this domain name because I was on a buying domain names kick a month ago or so. I tried to sell it but I couldn't get what I wanted for it so I decided to just start blogging on it.

Tell me what you think was the purchase just brilliant or what?

The domain name is SEOMKT and it stands for, Search Engine Optimization Marketing.

What do you think?

    yeah in this case it's okay because the word is marketing. The only problem and JUST as example I own www.yoursourceforinfo.com/ and people misspell it all the time.

    I dunno...it doesn't do anything for me. If I were to just run across the domain name on its own, it wouldn't inspire me to check it out.

      Ditto...What this domain "seomkt"? A random selection of letters? Unless you you're English speaking and into Search Engine Optimization and Marketing the domain doesn't make sense, it even sounds weird if you try to pronounce it. But if that is your audience, fine. Sorry for being such a spoiler. Just like my domain name probably doesn't make sense to you :-)

    Some say it's too many letters too! like seomkt who will remember that right?

    Who cares. I almost never have to remember a domain name, I bookmark everything or pull the content into a feed reader. No one walks around memorizing domain names anymore, I don't believe.

      I don't think so either. The only domain names I remember are the ones I visit daily like mybloglog, blogcatalog etc...

    Here let me try and make it more simple

    SEO = Search Engine Optimization

    MKT = Marketing

    If you go to college you will understand the MKT abbreviation and the SEO well it's normal terminology these days

    I think out of it all the MKT is what confuses most people

    It is cool. Why not keep it? BTW, Happy New Year 2008!

    I think I am leading towards JoyChaser's opinion .. I mean, it's *o.k.* and six characters and all that, but it doesn't really do much for me. There's a reason (don't forget) why you couldn't sell that domain. I'm not sure what it is, but it tells you something that people don't think it to be a worthy domain to buy.

    And, even for those of us who do NOT go to college, we "get it" that MKT=Market .. You are going to have to continually promote it and make sure the letting is specific. For example .. I don't type petlvr .. I type PetLvr. Instead of seomkt .. you should always type it as SEOmkt or SeoMkt or something like that.

      If I just came across the URL, I don't think I'd understand that MKT references "market" or "marketing." I agree though, writing it SEOmkt might help.

    Interesting ideals, I know someday I will sell it. The most I was offered for it was 200.00 USD and I don't think that's enough! I wouldn't sell it for less than 10,000 USD..

    I know for a fact SEO and Marketing people are looking at this name wanting it bad.

    cool dear.. u will get some traffic in that domain name.. and yeah dont worry.. SEO is climbing these days.. u will get ebuf bids.. BTW why dont u try in some after markets aws we;ll?(domain after markets)

    Any way take care and keep blogging..!
    1. bbrian017
      What's an ebuf bid? And could you tell me more about these after markets?

    hey blogengage, don't listen to all the naysayers - I think seomkt is catchy and clever, and I'm actually surprised it was available and you were able to pick it up. I've spent the last month or so trying to find domain names, and the good ones ain't that easy to get ;-).

    It easy to say "seomarket" is better and you should have gone with that, but of course that's taken. After literally hours of trying to come up with something catchy with with the words back and pain in it (and I went through the same thing for client retention, and for my massage business previously), I know it's not that easy. So I would say, yes, you scored quite a coup!

    Those of you who say it's not meaningful if you're not into seo or marketing - true. But, well, the name's going to appeal to someone who IS into those things and to whom mkt DOES make sense!

    btw, you WERE kidding about "ebuf," weren't you? Maybe I'm just stepping in it here and making a fool of myself, but it was just a typo for "enough."
