Do our (written by bloggers) posts and articles make a big difference to the world?

Or is this an old saying that has lost its meaning over time?

Check out my views in my post:

Good article there. But you know what? Sometimes you can't really tell a person by what he writes. Unless it is a personal account of his everyday stuff. But words are very powerful. For those who love the English language, we know what words can do once it is out there. I have made some mistakes in my posts and regretted them. That's what editing is there for. Like the stuff we breath we create a world through what we put out there. Someone will read it, get inspiration from it -though there is no telling if that inspiration is positive or negative. As the Celtic saying goes: you are what you eat.

"I think it best that in times like these
A poet's mouth be silent, for in truth
We have no gift to set a statesman right.
He has had enough of meddling who can please
A young girl in the indolence of her youth
Or an old man upon a winter's night."

I don't think a writer can change the world. I think writing is a private conversation aimed at and between individuals. At least, I see my writing that way.

Yes, I agree that the pen is mightier than the sword, for the most part. Writers have been the inspirations for political uprisings, social changes, among many other things. It is no surprise that the first people to be killed in an attempt to quell an uprising are the voices and writers that inspire it. When you want to kill a snake, you cut off its head, but you must never forget that the decapitated head of the snake can still bite.

depends on where you're at. in really tight situations, like hand to hand combat, i can stab my enemy with the pen. but the sword is pretty neat when you just want to severe limbs. chainsaws are best!

Sure, the pen is mightier than the sword! I'm gonna just sit here, within the safety of my walls the comfort of my chair and type whatever I want on the things happening anywhere in the world and change people's mind. Can your sword do that?

Yes. You can stab people with it when they least expect it.

Is pen really mightier than the sword?

Sure, if you have one of those James Bond pens that fires bullets.

Depends, what hurts more, having hurt feelings that you can get over with time or having a leg chopped off that you will never get back.

The Sword, the Pen and the Tounge are but of the same soul. They are merely lashing weapons in the hands of the same soul. Show me how good you are with one and I'll show you how good you can be with the others.
