An artist was arrested for destroying property after he unveiled his traffic barrel monster masterpiece to the world. I understand the charges, but this has to be the greatest use of public property I've seen in a while. Would you attempt to do something similarly awesome while being knowledgable the consequences?

If he is prepared to accept the consequences sure! I think the barrels are a hoot and I bet a lot of drivers got a chuckle out of it.

I'm now thinking the world needs more barrel monsters in it.

It's well done, and the surprise of seeing that would have made my commute!

I totally agree. That barrel monster is full of awesome. It almost brings a tear to my eye... lol.

I hope he thinks it was worth it. I love it.

Sure. Graffiti artists take this risk all the time. The Law has no sense of humor, and it's an artist's job to try to give it one.

If I had the talent, I would probably end up taking the risk at some point.

I think it's actually an incredibly effective way for an artist to get his name out there and into the public consciousness, especially if he spends any time in jail for it. A savvy judge would give him community service and keep it "on the down-low" so as not to reward him for the behavior, although perhaps that cow has already left the barn.

TOTALLY worth it, that's just the risk you take of being an artist

It got his name out there. Any publicity is good publicity.

The guy's got talent ... it's hilarious. Should he be charged? No. But, the further south you go in the US, the crazier things become. LOL.

I think at the most, he should have been prepared to pay for the replacement of the barriers he used/destroyed in making the monster.

Wish I had that type of mind sometimes!!
