   The Human Persona is three combined elements, Body, Soul & Spirit. The body is the part of the persona that moves in the physical realm. The Soul is the source that gives life to the body. The Spirit, also known as “the mind”, is the source that produces thoughts upon which the body acts. These three elements are what make a person fully functional in life.
   
   The Heart is the flesh that Harbors the Soul that gives life, and the brain is the flesh that harbors the spirit that Gives thoughts. A heart can be moved from a person to give another body Life as long as the soul is still beating in the heart. When a person’s heart stops beating, the person will be pronounced dead, regardless of the perfect conditions of the person’s brain or body. The soul is the source that keeps one alive. The spirit is the source that produces thoughts upon which the body acts.
   
   A person can be in a coma for years and remain alive. A comatose stage is when the body is alive, but unable to respond to any motion, because the Brain that enables the body to respond to the spirit’s thoughts goes into a nonfunctional state. The heart is what Carries the soul (the source of life) and the brain is what carries the Spirit (the Source of Thoughts). A person must have a beating heart in order to be alive, and a person must have a functional brain in order to make decisions.

   Question: Is soul is real?
   Answer: I was raised to believe that I am a soul, dwelling in a body and that I have a mind. But I'm also aware that there is no empirical evidence that verifies the existence of souls.
   
   I recognize that a belief is not an idea held by the mind; it is an idea that holds the mind. In other words, I recognize that we don't see things as they are; we see things as we are ie. as we perceive them to be.
   
   What I experience is that when I meditate and all the things associated with my "ego-self" like greed, anger, hate, etc. dissolve is that there is no self; there is no distinct being or "I" that is separate from the universal stream of pure consciousness.

   According to GN (Christian) Magazine, 'soul' in Hebrew literally means "living creature". That debunks the idea that the soul is separate from the body and whether ghosts and spirits are for real at all. I know this may be kind of a surprise to most people but check out the resources:

   When my grandma passed away I saw her body in the casket. I felt nothing toward this shell that was her body. I cried because what I saw was her soul was no longer in the shell. That moment convinced me that the soul does exist.

    The soul is simply the principle that animates a living being - be it a plant, an animal, a human. It is not a religious notion.
