Is Steve Ballmer Sinking Microsoft?

Ever since bill gates stepped down, and Steve Ballmer taking the helm it seems like Microsoft has seriously lost its momentum.
Either that or Vista really knocked Microsoft out ;).
Anyways anyone agree that ballmer is underpinning apple as a threat (on cnet news he said that apple has a market share of 3% but as of oct its 12%)?

Apple is a threat because they are evil. Any company that wants polybore not only to use their operating system but also their ludicrously expensive proprietorial hardware can go jump.
