I was wandering if any of you are having the same problem? I have 22 blog reactions and still no authority. And I've pinged my blogs numerous times and that won't even update. I think they have been on a 30 day lunch break!

Yeah, my blog www.handingchao.com has 7 authority now. Thanks for Technorati! Thank you too.
  2. MadameX
Yes, mine seems to change every few days, although typically new comments show up in "reactions" a day or two before the actual ranking is adjusted.

Me I am getting nowhere in a big hurry with Technorati

I have 17 fans on one and Authority of 1

Other one has 14 fans and Authority of 3

    Weird

How do I go about increasing that

Been adding people to my list

How can you tell if you have been faved back or ignored

Wenfri, Technorati authority is totally unrelated to fans. It's purely a measure of the number of recent inbound links you have from other blogs--one new link from a unique blog equals one authority point.
  4. WanNo
Number of authority is number of links refer to ur blog isn't it?
  5. legbamel
If your reactions are coming from a blog on which you already have one, it won't increase your authority.
  6. fibs
But i got 7 incoming links, but no matter how manytimes i ping the authority just doesnt change!
    1. MadameX
Fibs, they only count links from blogs, and only one link per blog. They also stop counting them after some time--I thought it was six months, but I see that you have a reaction listed that is 195 days old so I'm not sure about that.

Pinging isn't going to help get inbound links recognized--Technorati has to pick that up from the blog where the link is. Sometimes it takes a while for them to show up (a week or two, in my experience).
    2. fibs
technorati should be sent to prep school if its forgot to count links!!!!!!!!
  7. clioandme
Technorati is a funny thing. The blog with the most fans has the least authority (and readers). The blog with the most authority (and readers) has no fans.
  8. chrispash
seems to take forever for technorati to pick up new links ... mine recently started to move upward ... now 14
    1. clioandme
Then it might not be picking up the pings of those blogs. I see backlinks pretty quickly.
  9. harleyblues
is it really a big deal the google authority I mean unless you are makin major dollars?
  10. MeghnaK
For my blog, the reactions are shown timely, but authority is added 1-2 days later.
  11. fibs
I have deleted my blog claim and restarted all over again. But still no change
  12. libdrone
I was stuck at 14 for a Long time but seem to have gone up to 19. It sometimes seems to take Technorati a LONG time to recognize and count some links.

I've had to manually ping my blog several times here lately. I don't see my authority increasing, but only get a blog reaction every few days or so... unless that doesn't work either.

Come to think of it, Zubli had given me award on his site last week and it never showed up as a reaction on technorati. Maybe the system is whacked.
  14. lalatenews
Yes. We were about 65 about 10 days ago. Today we are approx 110.
  15. teebob
I'm a member of technorati and my blog has been updated. i'm wondering way is it that your blogs were not updated

    from www.teebob.blogspot.com
    www.doodleztech.blogspot.com
  16. antibarbie
My blog updates every day or so on Technorati.
  17. wenfri
    What do they consider links

    Out bound links?
    Back Links?

    Wendy
    1. TotalAttorneys
Links coming to your blog from other blogs. Nothing else.
  18. clioandme
Technorati not updating authority? Perhaps this is also a case of the the watched pot not boiling? I don't check as often as I used to. The results are more pleasing that way.
    1. bnsullivan
      Good strategy, Mark. ;-}

If you want your Technorati authority to go up, you need people to link to your blog.

Another day of simple answers to simple questions.
  20. carolynloveman
Wildip it's not a matter of wanting authority it's a matter of getting technorati to do their job and give us the authority that we should already have. I have 21 blog reaction and no authority and the ping doesn't work either. My friend has the same amount of authority as blog reactions. And they don't even respond to their tickets either, Ive wrote several and no answer.

For some of us, I guess their still on their lunch break!!!
    1. WilDip
      Interrupt their break. It works!

      I'm not making this up.
    2. TotalAttorneys
Carolyn, you have a lot of blogs listed here--are you having this problem with all of them?
  21. carolynloveman
TotalAttorneys I only have 3 listed but yes none have any authority but i hve lots of blog reactions. I dont get it! Everyone that has linked to my blogs have authority.
  22. Manofkent
I Had the same problem after joining Technocrati in April. It seems that the Authority Has been a problem to a lot of people! I Sent numerous messages to Technocrati about it Until Just two weeks ago they sent me a message telling me they put it right, and they had.
They maintain they have a backlog of problems so Just contact them again another two times in the next two weeks and sit back until they report back.
Its a shame there is no easy fix. But at least it's a Plot to go on.

This does work keep track of ticket numbers and contact them few time times.
  23. TotalAttorneys
It seems that a lot of people are willing to invest a lot of time and energy in getting their Technorati authority up to date--what's the big advantage?
    1. Raivyn
Weeeeell.. Technorati is the largest blog search engine out there. If you're popular there, you're golden. You'll get all sorts of traffic (and if your blog is monetized, cash) coming your way. That's the gist of it.
    2. MadameX
Except I'm not sure how much that has to do with authority. When my blogs were relatively new with Technorati and had authority of less than ten, I got a high volume of regular traffic from Technorati on fairly competitive terms. As my authority has increased (it still isn't especially high), I haven't noticed much change in the traffic. I know that you CAN search and filter by authority on Technorati, but based on my own traffic results I'm not at all sure how many people actually use that feature.
  24. WilDip
Link to me, I link to you.
  25. Raivyn
My blog has been updating every day now.. no problems here.
  26. Majik
I haven't had any problems with authority in technorati, except maybe not having a lot of it! They seem to take forever updating my recent posts though.
  27. jaesten
    Hmmm..
I am not having any problems right now with them and i am loving what i am getting from using Technorati..
I now have 17 authorities and when i use the ping button, it updates my blog with in 5 minutes.. The longest waiting i had was 24 hours..
  28. MadameX
Carolyn, did you list your blogs with Technorati fairly recently? I have five blogs listed there, but one is only about a month old, and I noticed tonight that all of them are updating except the newest one.
  29. Raivyn
Here's a thought I don't think was covered on this page:

What is the authority of the pages linking to you? I could be wrong, but after watching my own blog over the past couple months, it seems that higher authority comes more quickly if other high authority blogs link to you.
  30. JackStowe
I wonder why one of my blog, blogxite.blogspot.com not updated yet.
