Is there anyway to tell how someone is finding your post on StumbleUpon? I have had 100 visitors to one page yesterday and almost 200 hits already today.

All of this traffic is coming from StumbleUpon and I have no idea if people are searching for some term in StumbleUpon and finding it or what? Is there any way to tell?

What are you using to look at your visitors?

Google Analytics and the StatPress plug-in for WordPress. Both indicate that the traffic is coming from StumbleUpon.

I just don't know how but you can track each SU user who viewed your page. then you can see their tags/or your page that has been tagged under 'what tags'. by looking at the majority tags, you maybe can figure it out. Just my IMO.

      Thanks, that's a good idea.

Wow, the post has now had over 400 hits today. My previous record (before the 100 or so yesterday) was only about 20. I'm not sure what I did, but I hope I can reproduce it.

While there are a lot of factors, including the tags on the post, one of the biggest factors is who "discovered" the post. Well-established users in a particular category tend to draw a lot more traffic--I have a couple of posts originally discovered by Timethief that have received several thousand "random" hits from Stumbleupon.

When you're seeing that many hits in a short period of time to one page, it's generally because it's being shown to people who hit the "stumble" button. You can tell if the traffic is coming from another user's page or from search by the referrer information in your stats--if it's a user page or a search phrase, that information will be included.

The referral address in my logs is pasted below. I am not sure what this means (other than obviously they came from a link from StumbleUpon).
