This Summer I've found blog posting quite a challenge. Its like wading through syrup trying to get a steady stream of inspiration. Is it just me or do the seasons effect your writing?

I get writer's block everytime I start a new post, it's actually a wonder I have anything on my blog. when I get stuck I just try to think of something funny then let my subconscious do the writing for me

If I did that then I'd be posting being stuck in elevators and being unable to escape from office blocks - scary!!!!!!

Yes, school is out. Writer's block for me weighs about 80 pounds and is shouting "Mom" every 5 minutes. - Nards

Whenever I get blocked, I just watch the news, and the stupid just flows from my brain again.

    Doesn't seem to be seasonal.

Maybe the summer gives us too many good alternatives, so it's harder to focus.

    Potentially

But it seems that I love to blame seasons for writer's block

I write for a living and for me it's not seasonal but I found that I'll have one day when I write like a complete maniac followed by one day when it's like pulling a needle through a concrete block to get anything good on paper. :-(

Ditto that. I have days where things I'd absolutely struggled with the day before go great IMMEDIATELY.

Most of the time it helps to just keep trying to muddle through it. Write something down, anything, and even if it's lousy, at least it gives you something to work from.

what an awesome analogy...my concrete is extra strong at the moment

I know it comes and goes - I have a lot of posts I want to write right now - many good ideas and other blogs I wan to refer to. I just don't want to flood my blog with too many new posts.

Then I go through the days of -... ...you know

I don't think it is too seasonal. Although it is my first year and I'm coming full circle and found the summer hard to get through, not because of writer's block so much as having kids home and wanting to be laid back. I'm hoping in the next year to find the write balance. I mean right balance...see it is all about writing. LOL

I find Summer a blogging challenge...head full of research for academic work etc, plus family commitments etc...hmmmm maybe I should blog about that
