   International Organization for Standardization. It means the company has work instructions so that practically anyone could walk in from the sidewalk, read and follow the instructions to perform a particular job. Every job has written work instructions from the top job down to the simplest job. Everyone has to do their work in accordance to industry rules. The rules are very standard, yet strict. There are scheduled and surprise internal audits and external audits in order to be sure everyone is in compliance. I was once an ISO Auditor.
