without starting world war 3 on these discussion boards. I think it's much more complex. You'd have to ask a series of questions, who is America? Who runs America? Is it an American agenda? Are there others that function outside the boundaries of any country who use nations to do their dirty work? I'm adamant that America is not run by America and hasn't been for quite sometime. I am NOT American, the underlying core values of the American people are good and I have a great respect for those values. The fact that those values are not implemented and expressed in their policies globally is another story. And the core values of the average American person are no different to yours and mine I guess. That part of the world is the Jewel in the Crown for many. To say it is America and Israel, I think is a simplified version of what happens in global politics which use human beings of all races as pawns in their quest for power, control and finance.

Like you I pray for peace

Too bad none of you really know anything about the world. Guitarman, your overly simplistic post belies your original point that the Israel-Palestinian conflict is complex. Some people cannot get past their cultural differences with others. Not everyone wants to live in peace.

thankyou for your response Nate. I do not have all day to write about the complexities of global politics, but I respect your right to disagree in a polite way. Have you ever read Chomsky at all?

and by the way nate, i have been in Moslem country and been locked up and told I will never get out. I have been spat on by dozens of Moslems, but you know what, I still have a concern for the people of the middle east, males, females, young and old and hope that one day those people can live wholesome lives.

I keep wishing an effective Palestinian leader would emerge who understood and took the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to heart. Non-violence works. It helped India obtain independence from the United Kingdom and African Americans obtain civil rights in the United States. Violence, on the other hand, often just leads to a lot of dead people. So does simplistic rhetoric such as I see in the original post here.
