Just read today another "confirmation" that green tea is rather miraculous. Even if we're here as "bloggers", many of us know someone who is sick or has been sick... well, Israeli scientists pretty much conclude that an anti-oxidant in green tea can return damaged, or sick/virtually dead brain cells back to vibrant health.

Anyone else have any news or info on that "Wow!" level that is not about crazy scientists being unfairly treated by the FDA because X of their dying patients claim they helped. I'm talking stuff that has some scientific basis but REALLY really helps...

Thanks,
Sam

I thought you were here to start up some controversy Sam. This isn't like the controversy you start up over in Entrecard. lol. Sorry just had to say that, I don't see you on BC much, mostly just on Entrecard.

@xight - ah yes, well, people have generally misunderstood... controversial blogging isn't about bullying people, causing trouble or injuring people in any way, shape or form. It's about calling out certain flagrant "violations" and being confident enough to stand in and make the case solidly even when the beasts have friends who like to pile-on with scads of nonsense.

But as you see, all's ok. ;-)

@ttiger - how much? you must pee like a race horse!

I could need some brain cell fixing right now.

I had green tea once and was incapacitated for 3 days. Maybe I'm allergic.
Coffee on the other hand is truly miraculous.

Does it matter if the tea is boiled or served refrigerated?

I've been drinking green tea for years, and I can assure you it has done nothing miraculous for my brain.

@flamingpoodle - maybe you are, maybe you aren't. Don't know.

@kdawg68 - I think boiling, or rather STEEPING, it brings out certain beneficial properties. Then people take the boiled/steeped tea and refrigerate it to make iced tea.

@mtchick - I can assure you that if science relied on anecdotal evidence such as yours, many of us would probably be long dead by now. Seriously, I think it's one of those benefits that isn't so readily noticed by people who are already basically healthy but rather by those whose brains have been damaged by things like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's... and maybe even cancer.

Not being a scientist who studies the effect of green tea on brains, anecdotal evidence is all I can offer about the effect of green tea on my brain....no miracles here.
