So let's assume I actually have an excuse to buy an iTouch beyond "I really really really really want one".

Maybe for my birthday.

I've got 6 GB of music. Is 8GB going to be a mistake? Will I run out of memory as soon as I start uploading photos? Should I suck up the extra $80 for 16GB?

Talk to me.

I don't know. I have the iPhone and I got the 15 GB one. The apps (which you will also have access to and they are FUN) can take up space, and also the videos are a killer.

It's not an insignificant amount of money to upgrade--but for me it was worth it but then, I ♥ my iPhone.

*nods* I've heard the apps can take up a lot of space. It may be worth it just to wait a bit longer and get what I need.

      WANT. I lack patience.

      Thanks!

Do you plan on storing photos and songs mostly .... or videos too?

How many files do you have that you never use.... but store just to know you have them?

Take those files off and put them on a flash drive. Some vehicles now accept files through a simple flash drive. That technology is going to eventually filter down into most cars.

Anyway, by removing those rarely used files, you'll have plenty of space to go ahead and get your player.

When you're ready to upgrade, put your old device on Ebay and use the money towards the upgrade.

6GB of music but how many do you actually listen?
I'm with a 2gb Ipod Nano and it's more than enough for me and I have MUCH more than 6GB of music.
    You just need set priorities.

i personally opted to get an iphone instead. it seriously cuts down on the number of electronics to carry around. on it i have books, music, internet, files, watch, camera, and translators, recorders, notepads....yep, pretty much everything. i haven't played with an itouch, but i gather it has many of these features already, minus the phone and possibly the internet??? at least internet without wifi, that is, through the edge network.

If you had a belt clip you wouldn't have to carry anything around... hehe... But as I know you hate that - it is true. One iPhone costs less than buying two or three devices separately - plus it's capabilities will expand under it's OSX platform.

the problem of having all in one is that if you lose one you lose all
      something like the musketeers

shadowmoon, on the plus side, i can replace it all again with just one device; data, on the other hand, is another question.

dannyvice, i guess if i had my iphone on a belt clip, the chances of me losing it, in a theater for example, would be significantly less, right? i still won't wear a belt clip though. they tend to be really bulky and i hate anything protruding from my midsection. i'm actually replacing the skin on my iphone with a thinner cover. less protection, but it'll look better. i'm not really that practical, actually, which explains my anti-belt-clip campaign.

personally i would suggest 16G. If can afford i think i will opt for 32G...you may ask-why i need so much space? practically bcoz i can store everything inside and it will be so handy!!if i can store everything in it...then why i have to pay more attention in taking care of other device(eg.pendrive, mp3 etc)?
the more you carry the more you have to take care your stuff...and the more you will end up like me-some maggot stole my camera =(

Oh yea, the con will be-if you loose your iTouch...then all gone...so be sure to make a backup from time to time =p

    good luck

I would recommend going for the 16Gb seen as though you have 6GB of music. You may also want to download apps for the iTouch from say my website www.appgiveaway.com (apps require space too).
