Fine, now, Shirley. It took 2,800 firefighters to do it--about the biggest number ever, anywhere on a single fire--but, they got it done. Things around here going back to normal--fast. Appreciate your concern.

I know everyone was concerned so just updating you.

I apologize for not knowing, but Jack was in a fire? His own home, it sounds like?

I must have missed something. What's going on?

Thanks for the update. I was in contact with Jack last night and today too. Thank goodness the situation has improved. The horrifying images of the California fires were all over the news. I'm so glad they are now reporting some are "contained".

Gosh, folks, I'm a celebrity? Thanks to Shirley. And, didn't even know it.

Yeah, due to this Herculean effort by this big army of firefighters--2,800, one of the biggest
such firefighting armies ever assembled--all is now well. Refugee centers closed. Traffic back.
The nuclear war (empty streets) syndrome gone. Smiles back on people's faces.

I "escaped," was gone for 2 days, and came back as containment went from 15% to 65% (now 100%), and the power came back on. Never even missed a beat on my blog. Got a new post up in 4 days--some kind of a speed record for me.
