A dreamer. Just like me.

I think Lennon is overrated. McCartney was the real talent in the Beatles. You just have to check out 'Band on the Run' by Wings. The complex soft-prog arrangements and lyrical sophistication are so much more innovative than anything Lennon ever did.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one -
I agree with you on that! Besides, it's Paul who wrote Yesterday which came to be the greatest pop song of all time. But John has more social consciousness and character. It was Lennon that made the Beatles an iconic symbol of radical thinking during their time. But music-wise I go with Paul... Yeah, yeah, yeah...

Being human, no doubt Lennon had his flaws, shortcomings, and addictions. What's important is how he used his beliefs, talent, and dreams, to change the world. To me, the word "legend" has a connotation of the surreal, hype, partly fact/partly fiction - so no, I don't think of Lennon as a "legend" - I view his life as having been "legendary", I view HIM as an inspiration.
