I just checked my Blog Stats and I had no idea so many people liked Joni Mitchell.

I saw her live about 20 years ago and adore the Blue album and Turbulent Indigo album

My stats were up on her, higher than a lot of other things and I only posted yesterday. I thought she was forgotten. However I think her work now is even better than before. She is one very cool guitar player.

      Canada has some great musicians.

      Ed Bickert, Jazz Guitarist

      Bruce Cockburn, fantastic player

Dan Hill, his first album (self titled) is one of the greatest singer/guitar albums ever. His stuff went a bit off later. His second album Hold On was great as well.

Joni's music is on my favorites list. "I wish I had a river" brings tears to my eyes. Now I'm heading over to listen to the youtubes on your site.

Hmmm ... I can't bring it to mind.
Edit: Cancel that .. SHEESH! of course I remember it ... DUH

BTW I forgot to answer. No I have never seen her live. I don't cotton to concerts. Anywhere masses of humanity gather are places I avoid going to.

I like her style, it's easy to listen to. i used to play guitar (very basic though). my husband and i put our guitars down a few years ago after my Dad passed away. We all used to play together. it's been hard to pick up again. i feel most for my husband as he is a good player and song writer (he wrote the music and song for an award winning tv documentary on ABC a couple of years back). I like folk style guitar. Can you recommend any music books?

    here's one from 1967 archives.cbc.ca/society/youth/clips/580-3213/ or from 1996 archives.cbc.ca/arts_entertainment/music/topics/2462/

Being from Canada, I would grow up seeing her on CBC and local TV and listening to her on AM radios etc etc.

If your page gets a lot of hits - update it with new information, and reping it
