Why are kids so stupid?

My little brother and sister decided it would be fun to sneak out sometime around 3-5 am. They rode their bikes ~10 miles to a nearby suburb. The 5-0 picked them up. Kids are stupid.

They are not stupid they are devious! My sister had been giving my nine year old nephew one pound a day for a dinner time French club the school had been running. So every now and again she would ask him how it was going and he would always come out with some French word or phrase they had learned. This was until last week when his friend's mum contacted her and asked her if she knew my nephew and her son had not been going to French club at all but had instead been going to the local corner shop and spending the French club money on sweets.

Not the dumbest thing I've ever heard kids these days doing...at least they were thinking of things to do OUTSIDE of the house. The dumbest thing I've seen in regards to kids lately is this new campaign to get kids to go play out side...
YOU NEED A COMMERCIAL TO TELL YOU TO GO PLAY???????????????? WTF!!!!!???? -
Like you've never done stupid things as a child?
Kids will be kids, but hopefully they will learn from their mistakes. -
I blame the parents, you would think they would keep a close eye on them, especially seeing how that older brother of theirs turned out.

Anin is right--they are devious. When I was a kid (about 14), I had a party when my parents were away for the weekend. Well, someone dropped a cigarette and burned our brand new carpet.
What did I do?
heh heh heh, I placed a piece of bubblegum onto the burn mark--and then when my parents returned, I told my mom, "Oh dear! Someone dropped bubblegum on the new carpet--I'll get it out with the rug cleaner."
So then, I poured rug cleaner and the bubblegum/burn mark and started screaming, "The cleaner is burning the rug! Oh. My. God."
I got away with it--and not only that, got the carpet replaced by either the hardware store where she bought the cleaner or through the cleaner company itself (too long ago--I don't remember).
I finally told my mother that story and confessed what I did. She was just amazed at the deceit and chutzpah I had.
And I admit--I am not proud of doing this. But, it is my confession. -
Alot of kids today are to lazy to do anything like we did when we were younger. If it dosent involve a copmuter or game console then they do not want to do it. I think the only thing (That I know of) my daughter did was to go to the creek with her friends after her friends mother told them not to because neither one of them can swim really well. They booth got grounded and that was that. I am waiting for the 4 year old to start he should be intresting as he is not lazy nor stupid. He already is trying to out smart the adults around here.

My brother did something really similar when he was 16. He snuck out of the house to meet a 13 year old girl he was friends with. Her mom called the cops and brought them home in a squad car. They weren't doing anything, just walking around the park and playground.
Typical of my mom, he didn't get punished at all. If I had done something like that, I would have gotten slapped silly and screamed at for days. Being a girl is so unfair sometimes. -
once upon a time long long ago when I was a teen, my brother, his best bud, and I decided to skip school and walk to the mall. We chose the day of a snow storm and ended up getting there and having to call my mom to come get us. In our brilliance we told her the bus went right past us and were attempting to walk. Great story right? except for the one tiny detail we'd missed. While we were planning our great caper, they'd called a snow day. There was no bus to pass us by.
I'm not sure if I'm glad that my own kids were much smarter than I was. -
Meh, my brother and I used to ride a toybox lid down the stairs, always crashing into the wall... and yet we'd still repeat it

I once let my friend's brother babysit my sons. He was 17, they were 4 and 8. Things went pretty well so I let him a second time while we went to a wedding reception. I was cold so we stopped by the house and walked in to see my youngest son riding down the stairs on his old crib mattress. while my oldest son and the babysitter cheered him on.

I think it's because you need to stop hitting them over the head with large blunt objects. All hitting with blunt objects must occur to the rear to avoid serious repercussions.

The plot thickens... apparently they were doing more than just riding there bikes around. But, due to the sensitive nature of it, I won't tell you.
