I was asked "Are any of the students smarter than the teachers nowadays? Bet that's true!" and decided to answer it on my blog.
Do you agree with my response? What's your response?

I personally think that everyone of any age can be smart, that modern teachers shouldn't try to claim to know everything because they don't (and never did) and that people are smart in different ways.

Well, I had a geography "teacher" who said that Japan and Iraq were right next to each other, sharing a border ...

why not, this era modern and many media to learn.
    my perception is

in teaching and learning, is the same as learning, between teacher and students, so that we can know how to submit items to the students because we know, knew, and understood by students, so the learning process is going well.
if students will be smarter to encourage teachers to learn better.

Except in the case of an extremely limited teacher or a highly gifted child, "smarter" has little to do with anything. It's more about what the teacher knows, how much work he/she is willing to put in to understanding the needs of the children and the best way to convey information to them.

if the teachers are behind on the lessons then perhaps a studious kid can teach her/him something

knowledge expands as people grow old and mature. kids can learn widely in newer things but that doesnt mean they can be smarter than their teachers esp if we are talking about pre schools and such..

I noticed that many of my teachers were not the swiftest tacks in the box, nor the sharpest bulbs in the chandelier.

this did come in handy at times
