Why don't the names of the bands the kids are listening to these days make any sense? Maybe the groups I listened to in the day weren't all that different but they seemed to be. Their names were clever (XTC) or trippy (Jefferson Airplane, Grand Funk Railroad), not nonsense (Architecture in Helsinki) I'm not hatin', just sayin'.

but "the four seasons" makes sense? or "the crickets" ... or "depeche mode"?
some of them make more sense than others. i always liked U2's name ... but wondered why the heck they picked it.
Eminem's name makes perfect sense to me ... but ben folds five never did.
i think some are just cultural references we don't get.
(ooo, i like "scratch acid" as a band name ...)
